he still is a good coach and Milan is on the come up. Lots of young players there and in their middle school.

Roster has been dwindling over last several weeks.   Coach Chatman is a Tomcat and will have them ready to go with a full roster very soon.

My guess would be that the roster was dwindling because the players could not take Coach Simmons intensity and demand to work hard.  So what does admin do, fire the one guy who will hold them accounta

He is good friend of mine and he wanted more money and they would not give it to him which is so sad they used paperwork excuse not to pay him when he left Haywood he had a lot job offers

Well what I know is “the people” was mad because he was playing his son too much! I seen at least 5-7 games that Haywood had won, but he keep his son in and the opponent took advantage! Nothing wrong with playing his son, but in crunch time to the bench he should go. State tournament against Maplewood is a perfect example!

A lot of fans didnt like that but when they so how Simmons could not really coach there were wishing Kendall was still the coach

That is true! He was home grown so people took him for granted! They bought someone else in & now they miss the original coach lol funny how things workout!

Yea I bet! If I was him besides the money no way I take the football position at Haywood. I know it sounds crazy but hear me out.. Haywood was what the year before? Runner up right? So only way you can make the Haywood program better is that you win the TSSAA championship! That is a lot of pressure from a program that haven’t won a chip! Nobody in the area has won(besides Trenton, Lake County)

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
