Coaches,

# of projected attendees has grown to a number that I did not expect..........thus if we exceed 75; we will move to much larger venue across the street into church gym. So, # of coaches wanting to come is NO factor.

OCE PROJECTED HYBRID WING TOPICS

1.) Into- Terms I use; this will help during clinic

2.) The Outside Count

3.) The Block System

4.) The Formation System

5.) The Play-Call System

6.) Sweeps (Jets, Rockets, Buck, & Ride)

7.) Inside Compliments (Trap, Belly, & Counters)

8.) The Belly Sweep

9.) The Short Back Attack (Bear & Bull )

10.) The Reo/Leo Attack

11.) Short Yardage

12.) Some Passing (Boots & Screens)

13.) Blocking & Grid Drills (if time)

I will also have a look at some single-wing stuff..............................4 or 5 basic things that will fit nicely with the hybrid wing.

wes

*clinic will NOT include Options, Sally, & other passing (not enough time)

**each will get 7-10 page handout (will be great to make handouts for others if you choose to use that part)

This will be quite a bit of info...........very similar what I use to do at Glazer Clinics. (a while ago)

thx

The Jet Sweep in its original form "enhanced" your speed to the flank by its design and also the fact that defenses were NOT prepared to defend it properly. The first couple of years was like shooting fish in a barrell.

BUT, the "D's" woke up and started employing tactics that stunted that early great success.

The Jets / Rockets can still be great parts of any offense but MUST be run correctly. If you have GREAT speed and do not run these plays (IMO money being left on the table). If you are the fastest team in your league and you do not have this in your offense (again money still there). If you have average speed; it will give you better chance to get on the flank...........if run CORRECTLY and in several different ways. This will be one of major topics at the clinic.

Most colleges & pro teams have JET as part of the offense, but it is generally a play run by their "BURNER". It is a "gadget" play for these teams or what I call a feast or famine type play, and they only run it once or twice a game. Most do not run it correctly. For this to be an integral part of your offense (run maybe 10 times a game)...........it must have a chance for positive yardage every snap.............the college/pro GADGET is designed for feast or famine. IMHO.

Coaches

The clinic for 3/28 is cancelled/postponed. I can reschedule it for 4/25; if enough would still want to come. That is well over a month away so perhaps most of this crap will be cleared away. I tried to get room for 4/18 but it was already booked. I have the space booked for 4/25

If you have prepaid and cannot make this make-up date; I will refund your fee...............send me an address. I realize that some of you might be in spring practice at that time (if any will still be allowed).

Now if this mess is still full blown at that time...............well you know that answer.

Let me know ASAP

Coaches,

NEW DATE IS SAT MAY 9th

Our area is semi-closed up till Apr 30, so the Apr 25 date is a NO! Now I realize that there are never football clinics in May during normal times, but these are not normal times. Many of you are done with school this year and probably will have restricted contact with players. I have rescheduled the clinic for 5 weeks down the road to May 9th. If we cannot make this date then we probably have bigger problems. I hope that is not the case and I really think we will be lot better by then

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
