Thorough domination from start to finish for the Rebels. They came out of the gate swinging, and we never recovered. Hard to beat a team that shoots that well from 3 range. Y'all beat us in every facet of the game where it counts, plus you outhustled us. I was really disappointed at our kids in the 4th quarter. I don't wanna say they quit, but to me looked like they pretty much conceded the game sometime in the 4th early on. Best of luck to the Rebels against DB, but I don't think y'all will have much problem. Aaron Green said on the radio that to him, this is the best squad Eldridge has had @ Maryville, including the state team in 2007.  Maybe, maybe not won't win state, but more talented than the 2007 team overall, in his words.

I would agree with Aaron on that. If we had the size of the 2007 team it would be something else.

2007 team was better at the post. Aaron Douglas was a monster.  Josh Allen and Jay Reynolds were good also. Tyler Maples was a great defender. Wes Lambert and Jordan Damron were good guards. Kent Basile was a darn good 1 on 1 scorer.

I love this years team. Joe Anderson is the best point guard in Maryville Rebels history.  An outstanding Basketball Player.  AJ Davis and Joe Anderson makeup a great guard combo. Teams won't be able to press Maryville.  Another thing great about Maryville is their wing players.  Jack Brown and Josh Seiler are both outstanding.  They can shoot lights out. They can drive the ball. They pass the ball well. Play good defense.

Ashton Maples is a good post player.  He can shoot the 3 also.

Getting ready to head toward Maryville in about 15 minutes.  Want to beat the rush hour traffic and try to be at the school by 5:30 after eating at a (hopefully) good local establishment in the area.

I'll be wearing my D-B hat and CM Punk wrestling T-shirt.  Hope it's a good game with no injuries.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
