7-0 Gordy.  65 yd drive using up over 6 minutes.

Gordonsville blocks a punt. Takes over at the SC 12 yd line.  2 plays later #10 with a 12 yd run out of the Wildcat package.

Smith County takes the ensuing kickoff down the field and on 4th and 9 at the Gordonsville 25 yd line kicks a FG attempt off the right upright and bounces no good as time expires in the 1st half.

14-0 Gordy leads.

SC is making a better showing than I expected.

They committed a bad snap on the 1st drive turning it over at the Gordy 35.  Gordonsville then went on that 6:55 second time consuming TD drive.

Then had their punt blocked at their own 12 with about 1:40 left in the 1st half. 2 plays later Gordy cashes in fir their 2nd TD.

Then their 45 yd FG as time expires hits the crossbar.

Gordonsville has been opportunistic but they are the better team.  

 

#72 for Smith County is one large dude.
