Any news on these two teams?

Yorks offense struggled game 1. Only had 4 days of practice with contact prior due to covid. Defense looked solid. Week 2 cancelled due to weather and field conditions. So, York hasn't had an opportunity to show much. Should have played week 2 if only for the reps.

York moved the ball on O descent til they fumbled and turned the ball over 7 times. Out gained apponent 2:1 but couldn't convert. They held the other team to -32 yds rushing and I think the net they had was 84yds. York had around 170.

so you saying the NEW offense that Grundy is running will be in trouble.

Don't know much about Grundy. I watched the S. Pitt game which is not very telling of Grundy. York had Jackson County week 1. York lost 8-0 due a turnover in their own red zone. Which led to the score. 4th quarter York seemed to start gettIng in their groove then fumbled again just ouside the endzone for a touchback.  If York fixed there ball control issue they will be ok. I'm actually expecting a good match up this friday.  Let's flip a coin cause it can go either way.  But I don't think either offense wins.  This one depends on who's defense bows up better. Jackson rocked Sale Creek week 2. York has the best defensive secondary that they've had in a few years and were tough agains the run. Again, I'm expecting a pretty good game.

Too bad that field was soooo bad York couldnt host Oneida. When they offered York to play at the Reservation and give them all the gate I figured they all would man up and play guess I was wrong.Old Alvin must be rolling over in his grave,he wasnt afraid of nothing.:thumb:

I wanted them to play. I know the players wanted to play. So who are saying should've manned up. We could have played friday but the tornado warnings were supposed to be til 7pm then was lifted about 4pm. When it was rescheduled for Saturday, there was forcasted thunder and lightning. But, anyone in east TN know that if you don't like the weather, just stick around a few hrs. I do know that Saturday when the cancellation was decided that York had about 3 inches of water on the sidelines.  It is what it is.  So I hope you're not trying to belittle the players.  I don't know who decided to cancel the game. Don't worry. York will play at Onieda next year if it's scheduled and you'll have home field for the 3rd year in as many matchups.

I don't think you have a clue as to what you are talking about.  I'm pretty sure Oneida did not offer the entire gate:lol:

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
