This is confirmed to be true.  Someone had to step in because Sycamore was holding firm to not move the game.

Sycamore did not wish to play on Fall Break.  Their Fall Break is the week of Friday 10/16.  By moving the Harpeth/Fairview game to 10/16 that opened up the week of Thursday 10/8 (Friday 10/9) for both teams to be able to play that game.

Coincidentally it also allowed for Harpeth to have 10/9 available to reschedule their lost game against Stewart County.

Honestly we just got lucky and the good Lord willing it worked out for all 4 schools (for now).

Fairview has more work to do now to free up our very healthy but quarantined players!  Our coaches have created a safe but strict environment to keep our boys distant.   Good job coaches!  Now let's FreeFV!

Good stuff here. Kudos to everyone involved for working together. :thumb:

Now when will Fairview be able to resume competition?

Hate it for Fairview.  Those 5-6 transfers from Ensworth really solidified you all as a very good team.  What if Sycamore would have held strong?  Why are some teams forfeiting and others rescheduling?

Fairview doesn't have 5-6 transfers from Ensworth.  They have several kids who attended Fairview Middle School the last 2 years who are now at Ensworth.  I wish them all nothing but the best and will be the first to say that Ensworth is very fortunate to have them.  The "selfish side" of me wishes that they were Yellow Jackets.  They would definitely have a great opportunity to be a part of something special at Fairview High School over the next 3-4 years.  That being said though Ensworth, CPA, and Columbia Academy are all very fortunate to have Fairview born and raised kids playing on their teams.  I wish them all nothing but the best.

Fairview's games in question are "non-region contests" so therefore they only count as a win for the team that could have played.  It does not count as a loss or impact playoff seeding for the team that was unable to play because it's a non-region game.

Sycamore did what was right by their kids too in this situation.  Both teams had a date available and both teams owe it to their kids to play as many games as possible.

It's a relatively busy week in Region 6-3A this week:

Sycamore travels to Creek Wood

Camden hosts Parsons Riverside

Cheatham County travels to East Hickman

Fairview travels to Lebanon

Stewart County & Harpeth are both "Idle" this week

Congrats to Camden on picking up a region win last week at Cheatham County (29-0).

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
