I haven't seen Fayetteville play but I would have Moore County ranked ahead of them at the very least.  I would even say that MC is a top 4 team.

Yea most would say they same And whoever voted Fayetteville #1 should have their privileges revoked , but it won’t matter by the end of the yr Fayetteville will have to forfeit their wins again anyway!

Yeah? What makes you say that? Fayetteville may not be as strong as they were last year because of youth and depth, but to say that they are cheating? Come on, man!

So did you join the T because of your love of high school sports or your dislike of Fayetteville?  3 posts and all negative towards the Tigers.  Maybe you aren't new, just new name?  Anyway....welcome to Coach T...

If you are referring to me, I’ve been around longer than most ;)

TSSAA Website:

Excerpt:

A regular-season game becomes a win for seeding purposes if the opposing team can’t play due to COVID-19, but the team struck with illness would receive neither a win nor a loss. If both teams confront outbreaks of the virus, it is considered a “no-contest.”

BOC Minutes:

Excerpt:

 A team whose opponent cannot play due to COVID-19 will be awarded a forfeit for seeding purposes. For the team unable to play, the game will be considered a "no-contest."

VII. The Board voted that teams that are unable to play a game(s) due to an outbreak, the outcome would be ruled a “no-contest.” The team that could have played would receive a win for seeding purposes in the postseason in football and postseason in all other sports.

That makes sense

It’s common knowledge to anyone within’ a 30mile radius, secrets aren’t kept long people talk!

2 things I know for sure

1) the Fayetteville coaches and administration are being extremely careful to make sure they are staying within the rules of the TSSAA after forfeiting 6 games last year due to a school bus not going by a 17 year olds house

2) if you had any real proof that Fayetteville was breaking rules you would be telling it to your administration so they could take it to the TSSAA

If you are aware of rules that have been broken, be man enough to say exactly what they are and who broke them instead of making vague accusations on a message board.

Then again, they may just keep it in their back pocket until it’s actually needed.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
