The Anderson County Mavericks are the most underated 4A team in the state and thats a good thing. They have a few kinks to work out. Greeneville is another dark horse. I think when the dust clears we are still looking at the 3 headed dragon of East Tennessee.

I am not convinced about Greeneville, they have lost to 2 mediocre teams and they don't have any real tests coming up for about 3 weeks.       After they play South on Oct 9 I think we will have a better idea of where they stand.

Haywoods path to the semi finals just became even easier than it was before. I am NOT saying they wouldn't make it in some other regions, but they have a cake walk to the 4th round.

If memory serves me correct, Haywood had a battle in the 3rd round last year to defeat Crockett County 41-35. The year prior to that they had to defeat a tough Dyersburg team, in the 3rd round, that went undefeated in the regular season including a 48-14 win over Haywood earlier that season. So I would say Haywood gets their fair share of challenges along the way.

Yes, not taking anything away from the large margin of victory in the playoffs over Dyersburg that season. I was only stating they were playing an undefeated team that had previously beaten them by a large margin that regular season. I wouldn't think that would qualify as a cake walk even though Haywood was clearly the better team that night in the playoffs.

Not so sure about that , but maybe so . That always seems to be the Anderson County thing to say we are underrated.  Three headed monster might just be Betsy , Greeneville and South , but who knows right !!!!

Is it 3 headed dragon when one "dragon" never beats the other two?

Now wait when was the last time Betsy beat the Mavs. I think last two meetings Mavs blew them off the field. Put that in pipe and smoke it. Lol Betsy has trouble playing the Mavs and obviously the Mavs have trouble beating the has been Green Monster...

Unless South can take down Betsy or Greeneville early otherwise they will get knocked out early in playoffs this year. As East Ridge and East Hamilton are a handful. We will see how good South is going forward.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
