WB is coming off a really bad showing and an off week. If I had to guess, the Govs will be hungry to put Elizabethton behind them and bounce back with a good performance. I am expecting a competitive game and I will be very disappointed if the Govs don't compete well this week.

Any good at stopping the run? Have enough speed catch Burke? Will the defense wear down easy after seeing 3-4-5 RB? Secondary good? Fill us in.

It's hard to answer your questions because WB has always been a Jekyll and Hyde team. Have we been good at stopping the run? Not really, honestly. But we have played Maryville, McMinn, and Elizabethton so far.  And a big part of that is poor tackling. We have been in position to make plays, but we don't execute consistently.

The most consistent thing for us is our offense. We have a senior qb, good receivers and we can score some points. Another pattern this year is slow starts. We don't seem to show up in the first quarter much.

If we get off to a good start, don't turn the ball over, and tackle well we will have a chance. If we don't do those things it will be another blowout. It's that simple. The Govs should be motivated to play hard after that stinker at Elizabethton and the off week. I'm expecting a competitive ballgame. Go Govs!

I went to the Oliver Springs game (wore orange) and they ran at will. OS just ran out of gas.

If teams keep running at will, they need to get Will out of there and put somebody else in.

Bradley is a very good team. Their defensive front is tough. The NG is fun to watch.

Oliver Springs also ran a gimmicky offense and we didn't get to prepare for it because that game was scheduled at the last minute in the middle of the week. But yes, our defense needs to play better than that this week.

Bradley actually has probably more weapons this year than in the past. Defense may even be better than any defense we have had in the past and we are young for the most part on defense. Think we have 2 or 3 freshman starting with 3 sophomores. I'm pretty sure. DL is definitely the biggest we have had in quite some time.

We are young too. We have a lot of sophomores and juniors starting.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
