I believe PF has to be the early favorite. But Greeneville I believe will be their biggest threat. From what I’ve seen PF has one of the best feeder programs in the state and won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. I will be interested to see how they keep the lakeway school from plucking their talent.

Thinking outside of just teams, some kids I’ve enjoyed watching over the summer that are top notch wrestlers and humans:

Garret Foreman at PF

Parrish Pacetti at Hixson

Hunter Mason at Greeneville

Kodiak at Greeneville

Dalen Kimble at Sycamore

Just to name a few.

We return a very talented young team with some experienced juniors and seniors at Fairview. My son who was 152 last year is 182 lbs this year. Will be fun to see where everyone is at this year in weight and where everyone will be wanting to get to after Christmas.

Will Clevenger still be at 195?

That’s the same for most public schools. They fight to keep the private schools from plucking their good kids.

For the first time NE TN has a seemingly legit private school in their backyard and as such this will definitely pull some talent from Dobyns Bennett and Science Hill in the coming years assuming they can keep a quality coach and be competitive.  Supposedly Lakeway has a full roster this year as last year they never entered more than two kids or three kids in any tournament or dual (that I could see) so I'm curious to see what they have.

I think it’s safe to say the coach will be around awhile. Being able to pull that sort of talent in after just one season says a lot about him. Why would he bail for something else?

Always something bigger and better, no matter where you are. Better coaching gig in another area of the country, better prep school, college gig.

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
