I'm not gonna blow Smoke up the Fayetteville Fans like some South Pittsburg fans are. The fact is there are very few Teams in 1 A or even 2 A in a lifetime with the Talent this South Pittsburg Team has. The only Team that is gonna beat South Pittsburg is South Pittsburg. If we don't shoot ourself in the Foot this Game will be a Mercy rule.  Especially if Fayetteville makes mistakes. I dont see Fayetteville scoring 14 Points. My Prediction is South Pittsburg 42 Fayetteville 0

Fayetteville likes  to spread the ball around. Who have we played to prepare us for this? Granted, we can simulate it in practice this week but as far as in game experience our secondary is untested...A positive for us is I think we can get pressure with just our front 4 and drop 7.

It’s easy to spread it around against sucky teams. They struggled against huntland in the 2nd round. Only won by a few. There’s no way they’ve played a defense close to this caliber. I know you think you’re just keeping it real but there’s no chance we lose. Yeah they’ll probably score a touchdown or 2 but there’s no way they stop us.

I appreciate the honesty.  Fact is, it's a tough challenge to prepare for a team as loaded as SP seems to be.  you are right that SP's only weakness could be Bizarro SP.  A few turnovers, a lucky break or two, and maybe the SP players start to doubt themselves. It will be settled on the field by 15, 16, 17 year olds.  Not us older hacks who haven't played or played at this level in years.  At this point in the season, SP is the team with the most to lose.  City relishes the underdog role and we welcome the challenge.  We will still step on to the field with the confidence that we can win this thing and not be scared of the "mighty" SP train.  It will NOT be a shut out.  That's for sure.

Varo well have to meet up at the game.  I know you met PirateTom a few years back when you tailgated at our place.  Good luck to your team.  Contrary to what many are saying, this is gonna be a great game and close.

PMike, what happened to Beerman?  I don't think I've seen anything of his in a while, but tbh, don't really read ya'lls 80-100 page threads either.  Met him, his wife, and little=Beerboy years ago before one of our games.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
