I only saw Riverdale play one time against Gerald Riggs Jr. and Red Bank at MTSU in 2000 with Gary as the coach. But we took care of Riggs and Red Bank in 2001 at the Skeeter. We only have played Riverdale twice I think in 2009 and 2011.

Alvin Duke was the RB on the 1994 Undefeated team.  He played at Vandy for Dowhower and Widenhoffer.

 

Eric Locke was the QB for the 1997 undefeated team (probably one of the best teams in state history).  He was Randall Cobb 10 years earlier.

Alcoa played Blackman and DB this year.....both traditionally solid 6A teams.  Not too sure they run away from Oakland if they came calling.  And Maryville's depth wasn't the issue against Oakland this year......it was the simple fact that their DL couldn't hold their own against Oakland's OL.  1s against 1s was a mismatch from the start this year

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!

      I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
