Wk2, Greenfield @ Dresden

Last year, at their place,  Greenfield beat the Lions in overtime in an exciting regional game. They’ll be playing with lots of confidence I’m sure this year coming here to Dresden, though we are in different conferences now! Our Lions will be playing at home for the first time with the vastly improved NEW stadium lighting! And no doubt the stands will be over-flowing with Lion Nation fans! Might have some YellowJackets swarm a few miles down the road into the Lions Den too. With their stingers out looking to stab some Lion hide, which got smacked by Westview’s mercy-rule win over us. But I believe Dresden will be ready, & we will take out our revenge & frustration on our Greenfield neighbors. Though the stadium is much nicer now, don’t count on the Lions being too nice when it comes to the score. We may not mercy-rule the ‘Jackets, but methinks we will win.. hmmm.. I ‘d say 35-13 Lions win. What do others think?

I have some questions, is Dresden as bad as Westview made them look or was it just a bad game?

Westview didn't play running back and starting linebacker. Westview didn't show everything . Still not saying Westview beats Peabody but they very well could. I believe Dresden as long as they stay healthy will win alot of games. I say they beat Lake Co.

why would Westview hold back two players game one to open the season ?!

This should be a good game as it normally is, but a tough one to pick. Dresden did some good things against a good Westview squad last week that won't show on the scoreboard. Greenfield did not look that impressive at all against S. Fulton, so I'm sure they are hungry to prove their doubters wrong. At the end of the day, I'm going to take Greenfield by a TD. The streak continues!:thumb:

    • Honestly the A.D. may be powerless at Maryville to some degree versus other schools. I know he has his hands full with GoFan and all the stupid surprises just from the emails he sends out during the season.
    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
