Well… this was a night of firsts. I’ve seen a lot of football in my a bit over half a century riding on this rock while it hurls itself around the sun… but I saw things tonight that I have never seen at any level of football. That being said I’m not going to go into details or call out a high school kid on the internet. However I will call out some adults. What ever coach is in charge of White’s Creek’s special teams should reconsider his teaching methods… it’s not working. I honestly feel bad for those kids. Their crowd was in danger of being out numbered by their band… and that’s not hyperbole. There were easily 3 times as many folks from Watertown than folks from White’s Creek. They couldn’t even find 3 adults invested enough to run the chains. They had to use 3 injured players to run the chains. We all know how hard these kids work. To see a community give such little support to their kids was a bit disheartening. The White’s Creek kids played all the way to end and punched in a late TD. I really hope they turn things around and get some support from their community. Without community support turning things around will be that much harder, if not impossible.
Good game by the purple. Just need to work on the timing of some of those passing plays. But the plays have been there the past couple of weeks, we’ve just been a bit off. Once that gets worked out the boys will have some fire power. Very happy to see some steady progress. Glad I was wrong.

    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin

    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
