Round 2 Giles vs Kingston

I’ll get it started. The boys have a 24 hour rule but I don’t.
Giles County’s defense looked impressive throughout the game.  The offense missed some big play opportunities early but handled their business. There were way to many penalties again. Some were phantom holds but we gotta control the ones we can.

Don't know much about Giles. But I'll give you some info on Kingston. They run multiple formations. Quite a few good skill players. Good sized lines. Most players play both ways. They like to run the ball on the edge alot and throw to backs out of the backfield. Defense is pretty decent T times. Kicker is average. Players to watch is the qb #2 rb/wr #5 rb #12. And our best lineman is #51. I think Giles wins this one.

I'd like to see Kingston win it also. But, my research is pointing to Giles as being one of the better 3A teams. IMO, better than Covington and Dyersburg. Too bad their in the East Brackets........

Appreciate it . We just taking it one game at a time and trying to go as far as we can go ! Go Bobcats !!!

I will be making the trip from Nashville to watch this one! Pulling for a big Jackets upset this week!!!

Be sure to come early enough to enjoy some of our fine dining.  The Southern Table just off the square is a great choice and then there is always The Hickory House at the north end of the stadium.  Use the north end parking lot for the Hickory House and use that entrance for the game.  Only game I attended this year was the Nolensville game and I left in the 4th with Giles down 14. As the record shows they came back for the win.  What i can tell you is that the Bobcats will be well prepared and in better shape than most teams.  This will be one of the nicest small town stadiums with natural turf you will visit.. So come on over and enjoy.  GO CATS!!!

For the Kingston fans making the trip, I'm sure most map apps have you guys getting off at exit 22 off I65.  I suggest using exit 14 hwy 64.  Two good places to eat there, Nicks Grill (nicksgrill.rocks) and Sarges Shack.  Take a left for the food.  Turn right then take a right at the first light about 12 miles  then a right at the next light and you have found yourself at The Brickyard.

    • I think Gibson County is a top five team this next season but I do agree they will drop off a lot after this year.  Westview lost a ton and will be down this season and hopes of returning to glass house again is slim.  The run they have had is super impressive!
    • My take on GC for this year: Based on what I saw last year and heard this summer, I’m not sure GC could surprise me next year with any outcome. Wilkins is a great coach - they could win the district and region and go to Murfreesboro. They could also come in third in the district and not get out of region. The two returning starters are very talented but Guru is right that they didn’t always play hard last year. The other three starters are good enough in their roles for GC to be successful. There is no depth. Foul trouble could be a problem - Wilkins may avoid it by playing a lot of zone. An injury would be catastrophic. I hope they have a big year and Wilkins rides off into the sunset in Murfreesboro because, without some significant transfers, there are some tough years coming in the next few.
    • Daniel Boone coming down to 3A makes this much tougher. They added a couple transfers to the Flores girl. Cocke Co, Northview, Greeneville, and Daniel Boone - only two headed to Murfreesboro.
    • You all couldn’t wait for Clarke to leave
