Congrats to the boys basketball team at Milan for their first region championship and substate berth in YEARS! I wasn’t out of diapers the last time this happened and I have one son at Milan HS and MS!!!

Coach James is doing a very good job with these kids. I heard nothing but good things about him from area coaches when he was hired. Now I see why everyone was so high on him.

He's one of the best around, that's for sure. Hope we can make some other moves so he stays a while!

Milan has always had potential. The football program especially Tucker wanted to keep it down.

MILAN WINS!!  47-37 over Fairview. Bulldawgs headed to state in basketball for the first time since the 60’s.

What a difference a coach can make. From winning 6 games last year to 23 and counting this year. Defense and depth is their strength, but ultimately it is the effort and total team attitude. Advancing will be tough, but either way, what a success story!

Yes, and had a much better year than their football team. New coach made a huge difference, and they only have two seniors, look for them to be a factor again next year.

The Milan adminisration has not wanted a basketball program in Milan due to the football coaches wanting kids to only play football. Remember Jerry McQuire, SHOW ME THE MONEY! How much has Milan spent on foot ball and how much have they spent on basketall? Enough said ! Milan does not do the tings with kids to promote basketball like other area schools that are highly successful. It is not allowed !

I agree Football is the Baby at Milan and is well supported.... But, the gym is phenomenal with many upgrades. They have invested in some good coaches in the past. They had some pretty good seasons along the way too. Coach Tucker was the Basketball coach on more than one occasion and called in help from some of the best coaches in TN to help get the team going in the right direction. Basketball teams have profited from a good football program at Milan more than people know... They have made tons of Money from Concessions at football games. As well as profited from the football revenue for the overall program. Milan has had potential in Basketball, but it has been a football town.... and thats ok... With that being said at the moment it is a Basketball Town... and thats OK too.... I am proud to be from a community that produces winners on and off the athletic court and field. At the end of the day thats what it is all about. GO DAWGS!!!!! we support you.
