Never count out Huntingdon that is always a given. But I just hope we get the chance to meet up with Riverside in the Semifinals. Keep the doubts coming the Tornados love the underdog role. One thing about it I told y’all this is a TEAM and not just a couple good players. If you want to beat us you have to beat us ALL. Go Tornado’s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From what I saw last week and what I've seen so far in the USJ game nobody in 2A is going to want to see Union City.

I'll ask, what's one thing all Union City championship teams have had in common? Answer a dominant fullback. This offense runs best when the back with his hand in the dirt is a big physical runner capable of breaking the long ones. Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the Tornadoes have 2 of those this year and they're both nasty. Best of luck to anyone in the path of these guys.

We have had good fullbacks over the last few years. This year we have been able to attack the corners against a quality opponent. Having those sweeps go from 20-30 yards instead of 5-6 makes a big difference.

Our fullbacks just grew and gained strength. They will grind you 4 or 5 yards a play and chew up the clock. They swooop their goes one of our tailbacks on a sweep for large gains.

What about our defense? It’s been awhile since I’ve seen a UC defense gel so well as a unit and just love to hit so hard. I’m Loving It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This team is faster and stronger than the 2017 Gold Ball version of the Twisters ! In 13 and 14 the Dominant offense was the defense, this D plays the assignments better and has less liability when opponents toss up the rock !

  • Thanks 1

Thanks for the compliments just hope they can accomplish the same goal as those historic teams. One game at a time is how far this team likes to look ahead.

Good luck this year Peabody!!!

Very true and those sweeps are a little easier to break when they're loading the box trying to stop those fullbacks.

    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
