Henry County at South Gibson

Congrats to the patriots! Lord have mercy, did y'all bring 3 busses to Gibson county tonight to transport all of those kids? There were kids from end-zone to end-zone over there.

I was impressed with the overall physicality of HC and the speed on defense. SGC broke a couple of plays for chunk yardage that we would have scored on most teams with. Also, defensively HC tackles well across the board. I felt like the hogs in the middle were pretty evenly matched in the first half. After halftime, it seemed like HC was able to get a little more running room between the tackles.

For the boys in Orange. Proud of the effort I saw. HC is a 5A powerhouse program and you should not hang your head. Remember, they have almost 500 more kids in their school that are eligible to play than we do.

There is a reason they have to drive 2 hours every Friday to play games. I wish the 2 TD passes in the endzones were completed.... It would have been a different game if we get both of them.

I think the officiating was pretty liberal tonight... but overall, a pretty clean game. There was some jawing and pushing but I think it was a clean game.

Good luck to our neighbors to the northeast going forward. Y'all have fine looking football team in Patriot country.

lol i’ll save this for you

Almost 400 yards of offense and scored points in every quarter, even against a predominantly run oriented team, with a scoreboard operator who basically had a running clock all night. Threw for 220 and ran for 170, and was 50run/50pass on the night, against a defensive wizard of a coach… I stand behind my statement. That QB ain’t bad either. GBR

Good stuff. Only critique I’ll have, is it’s time to upgrade the entire stadium. I thought I was driving through Brentwood when I was coming into town. There’s money in Medina, time to start fundraising. Assuming half those families aren’t taking their kids to USJ or Milan. Great atmosphere though. Big Red usually travels pretty well

I agree. The problem is there is no industry in Medina. We have a few little mom and pop restaurants and a few chain restaurants. We have 0 industry. This is a bedroom community. Most folks that live here, leave to go to work. It is a double edged sword, but it is what it is.

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
    • I heard Alabama was at Antioch practice and Colorado has offered QB. Hoping the Bears have a great year.
