They use to be dominant in basketball ( girls and boys  )  so sometimes get waaaaay to excited now - guess they think what they do is ok but it’s not - their coach is a stand up guy and assure you he’s doesn’t condone that type of behavior

I can see that. I saw the coach handle a situation with one of his players and it showed a lot of his character. But I will say the student section was out of hand. Which isn’t the coaches job. That’s the principal and AD

From my interpolation, The tweet was about race. Saying he has lost 3 black players over the years and underutilized the 6’8 one that he has.

Its a tweet by a person trying to derail the coach and program even if that means inventing problems from thin air- just like "Williamson Co kids get overlooked bc of race!?!"  Thats an insane statement for a public school district that has as many or more college athletes yearly than any other county in the state.  You can debate why-($,population, facilities, coaching...whatever) but there is definitely not an exposure problem.

Btw...All 3 kids shes claiming were "run-off" were football 1st kids that left to focus on that sport. One of those kids is the basketball coach's son's best friend and another one's parents are close friends with the coach and his wife!!!  Lastly, the 6"8" kid has been coached by the coach since he started basketball at age 5...the coach is very close to that family as well AND that kid wasnt going to tryout freshman year....until the coach went to his house and encouraged him for 2 hrs to not give upon his dream.

Twitter person prob should of done her homework 1st

...but clearly she's attempting to send the 6'8" SENIOR'S last yr up in flames for her own selfish motives by using him, a kid, in a public forum.

Everything you read on social media isnt true.   Good luck to everyone!

I can’t begin to speculate on why they no longer play.  Maybe the players found other things to do with their time.  Maybe they are playing elsewhere now.  Maybe they weren’t good enough to play at Fairview.  Who knows?  When I look at your comments it’s apparent that you are a Harpeth player, student, parent, or supporter.  Maybe Harpeth has benefited by gaining some of the players that have apparently not been able to cut the mustard at Fairview.

I’ve stated my affiliation on here before. What does that have anything to do with?  it has nothing to do with this subject. I’m not coming at Fairview or the coach about anything. Stop being so defensive towards me.

You got a lot of first hand information. Are you a coach?

But on that note, Giles fans got too personal with the opposing teams players, I heard some of the things that the fans were calling the players on the court. And some of those fans were even had a foot on the court. Way too close!
The A.D. needs to control some of that.

I was at the game and I am wondering exactly where the fans were sitting that was calling names because I didn’t hear it. But I did see the guy from Harpeth get escorted out his mouth.

Please explain what you mean by “out of control”

Meaning, it is easy for that person who posted to Twitter to hide behind the keyboard!  Assuming it was a parent affiliated with the team, too many times they will go to social media first and not the coaching staff.  Or worse, have people do it for them.  Sad, but just the world we live in at this point I assume!

I hope that he doesn’t figure out that he has a 6’8 kid on the floor that he’s underutilizing.

In the 4th Quarter of tonight’s game the big kid made several plays to help the team get the W.  Huge threes.  Huge free throws.  Huge finishes around the rim.  It was a huge effort and a huge team W.  Congratulations to Coach McCoy & the Jackets on the W.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
