Social Dweebs does a good job, but you don’t get the feel for the Shackle Island atmosphere. Come on down and enjoy!

trust me Brother I have experienced it SEVERAL times.  There have been some long walks back to the car.  One year we were moved to the gym from the field because of lightening.  I put the family in the car and we headed home on that one.

I won’t pick a score.  What I picked earlier I was teasing you.  I will say that we have to keep Beech at 17-21 points to have a chance.  Beech’s ball control concerns me.  If you have long drive that eat a lot of clock then I think we are in trouble.

Fair enough. I think your defense has trouble stopping them if they don’t stop themselves with mistakes (penalties/turnovers). The Beech QB may be the most talented we’ve had in several years and I think the coaches are getting more comfortable throwing the ball. With that said, I think you have to respect the pass now, but can expect a lot of run.

But you haven’t experienced it with turf! Lol

we are thinking the same way.  That is the type of score we need to be successful

I think a lower score allows you to keep it close and we all know anything can happen in a close game. I think it’s important for both teams to come out and set the tone, probably more so for Springfield.

You score  31 and that means to me we would turn the ball over twice

That’s the thought process anyway. I'm expecting the Beech defense to shut down the run and force the QB to try to win the game through the air. I would bet that leads to forcing a few balls and ill advised throws.

    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
    • No sir. I watched it specifically and it was very dirty. He cleated the boy on purpose. Apparently, it’s an issue in football as well from what several schools have said. That said, looking forward to a good game 3. ER hit it well in game 2.
    • He is the transfer. 5star spoke on him in their new qb1 series. Didn’t list em as a transfer but I knew the name
    • Gunner Warren was the second starter, freshman. SP #1 arm impressed me last night.
