new classification cycle?

does anyone know how the new cycle is going to look?

The first step is to give schools time to report any errors. Then in a couple of weeks TSSAA will list the classes and then give schools time to decide if they want to play up a class. Then they will start putting teams in districts and regions. All should be done by Dec 1 as a ballpark date. All of this is just my opinions, based on years' past, so we will have to wait and see.

Anyone have an idea of what the cutoff numbers will be per class?

This should all be done by November. 

Numbers will depend on if they pass the classification system of making sure no school competes with another school 2x's their size classification.

A= 86 teams  0-395

2A=85 teams 396-682

3A=85 teams 683-1194

4A=85 teams 1195 and up

Looks like they punted on changing the set up that was proposed to TSSAA.

Seems they want more time to "study" it? 

Proposal was: no school should be in a classification where they have to compete in the same class with a school twice their size. Not sure what punting 2 years down the road does. 

Good old boy system is never going to change is it?

The proposal was awesome. Should have been adopted. Now you have 1A and especially 2A districts with a ton of schools and you have 3A and 4A struggling to get 4 in a district.
