Very proud of the fight our cats showed tonight.Nobody gave them much of a shot but they have great chance to win if not for the fumble on the punt after the safety.Man those refs need to go on somewhere.Another big ups to our defense for playing big.Great game for 7.Im really hate the offense went back to being confused again. They showed a lot of growth last week and took a step back this week.People see our record and assume we are not very good but forget the sch we play. This team can play wit anybody if not getting in their own way.

Could it be GC is up in the press box "helping out" with play calling? That game tonight had GC written all over

What do you expect WJ?  GC trained him. But one thing seems to me to be missing though. Coach is not prone to go conservative once he gets comfortably ahead like GC always did.

I don't know that last drive before the ball went over the punters head looked pretty conservative to me. That could have easily been 6 the other way. If they had went for it on fourth down and not made it Oak Ridge would actually had worse field position. Also if the Oak Ridge receiver hadn't dropped that wide open pass with less than a minute left that most likely would have been 6. Then there was the TD in the first quarter that got called back because a block in the back by a player 20 yards behind the ball carrier. It's week 9 and we're making mistakes you wouldn't see in the pee wee leagues. There was some high spots in the game but dang. I thought both teams played like it was the first game of the season.

First time I've seen a team get a "Con Graduations" for losing a game.

Lol, no kidding. I agree, both teams looked unfocused as all get out, but that has been a recurring theme all year for OR. An extremely sloppy game by both teams. Like you said, making mistakes you see teams make in the first few games of the season.

That was one of the ugliest games I've ever watched... But a win's a win.

Take it and move on. Hope the Wildcat faithful have a safe trip back down to the OR.

Have to admit, a lot of focus from folks in the crowd tonight was not on the game but of the situation unfolding at the Musket Bowl once word started circulating what happened. At least where I was sitting anyway.

Oh no, what happened? Congratulations to DB, BTW. Forgot to say that.

A skydiver's parachute appeared to fail as the diver was approaching the field.  He missed the field entirely and landed on the track surrounding the field.  As of 40 minutes ago, WVLT in Knoxville is reporting he passed away.  Just a terrible tragedy.  Luckily WCYB's Friday Night Rivals TV coverage cut away from the skydiver before impact, but a video from the stands did emerge on Twitter... it was every bit as bad as you could imagine.  I understand videoing something like that as it's not every day you see skydivers at a high school football game, but posting it to social media is not cool.  Just praying for everyone there who saw it in person and of course for the family of the diver.

Awful.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
