Alcoa has been the standard in 3A. But it looks like they are content on staying where they are and where it’s easy for them. They control their enrollment being a city school which is their right. But there is no question Alcoa is concerned about moving up and still being dominant or they would have done that with rankin… common sense says they would continue the dominance looking at their recent dominance over past 15 years but there is definitely a question in their leaders minds on if they could sustain it. That’s not a knock against them but it’s the truth.

Alcoa fans are less annoying than East Nash fans imo. If Alcoa moves up, East Nash more consistently takes gold balls. I imagine they are also pulling all the "tricks" Alcoa does, but not as successfully. Knoxville has a population of 187,000. Alcoa itself has 10,000. Nashville has a population of 700,000. Not sure how a school named "East Nashville" has the enrollment numbers to be 3A.

As long as Cheatcoa stays in 3A and refuses to move up, ill take anyone over the Cheatnadoes at least until they stop running away like cowards and finally move up a class

So I too root for AE as well

I don't blame the Alcoa fans or even players. But the coaches and administration I would say are the chickens on not moving to 4A. They much rather beat up on the cupcakes then take a challenge in 4A

Get the whole story before you start calling the coaches and administration chicken.  Alcoa was set to move to 4a last cycle and announced they were and then a bunch of 4a schools in the Knoxville area jumped ship to 5a.  This would have made Alcoa be in the Chattanooga 4a region with Anderson County.  Chattanooga 4a football would have been even weaker than what their current 3a conference is.  For anyone to think Alcoa is afraid to play anyone in any classification is laughable when they play a top 3 6a team every year in Maryville and even scrimmaged McCallie and held their own just fine

WRONG AGAIN!  Fulton went from 4a to 5a (Moved up a class even though their enrollment were still 4a number) for starting the 2017 Season so they ran from Alcoa too.  Why would Knoxville 4a schools jump to 5a when Fulton just came off a 8-5 season in 4a and went to 5a themselves.  Once again educate yourself before speaking

Actually you're wrong Fulton went after they heard all the Knoxville schools was going. Keep telling yourself it was Alcoa was the reason. Going back to your first post you can say you was going move but if that was the case why didn't the move this class when they knew they was coming by back to 4A

So you really think Knox County Schools jump to 5a because of Fulton after going 8-5 the previous year and them moving to 5a anyway, I hope your not that obtuse. Alcoa had announced they were planning to move to 4a and thats when all the Knox County Schools jumped ship- FACTS.

Fulton hasn't been relevant since  winning it all in 4a for the 14-15 season.  If Knox County Schools were scared of Fulton then why the heck have they had a horrible record since moving to 5a (Now back to 4a) and playing other Knox County Schools? (Getting put out of the play-offs from Knox County School to when they made it in 5a or getting put out in the first round by Rhea County)

Maybe because they know they are going to be 4a soon with their new school that holds 1,000 students and the influx of people moving to Blount County and don't want to play the waiting game of Knox County Schools deciding to go up a class again leaving them in Limbo

Alcoa had the chance 2 years ago to move up but Rankin refused. You're not convince anyone outside of Alcoa. Alcoa could make way better gates in 4A and be very competitive but they much rather stay 3A and rack up wins that no one is impressed with.

Rankin Refused or Ranking didn't want to have to play the guessing game of if the schools in Knox County would move from 4a to 5a again? (You must have not been around in 2016 to see what happened around Knoxville when Alcoa said they were going to 4a and everyone jumped ship being stuck on the plateau, go back through some old Coacht threads) The fact that you think Alcoa is afraid to play anyone or move up a classification is laughable and this is coming from someone who isn't even an Alcoa supporter and use to Coach in this area. I spoke to many coaches during that 2016 jumping of the ship and Fulton was never brought up it was that Alcoa moving up gave 4a teams in Knoxville zero chance at all for a state championship.

All Facts!!! Appreciate it Swipes. You will never win an argument against ignorance or an Alcoa hater. I must admit I laughed when it mentioned Fulton.
