I had posted a reply to a post I heard you made about a Hampton man (me I assume) who had kids with his sister. Figure I kinda lowered my standards by doing so, so I edited.

No Worries brother. We’re all friends on Coacht. . I “may” have had a little too much Jack that night. . My apologies if i offended. You guys from Hampton are my blood brothers much respect because i grew up on Stoney Creek. . Still remember seeing Coach Vanhuss in HS when he was at DB. I was a soph on the team. But I’ll NEVER forget him wearing tan leather work boots, jeans and a flannel shirt yelling at his players. I got to shake his hand after the game. Along with getting to play against Bayless at HV and meeting him, but seeing Vanhuss coach is burnt into my Memory. Forever. My Dad told me how he took a Hampton team all the way to a State Championship without a guy over 6ft tall. . And that was Before any Classifications. They beat Every HS basketball team in the State that Year.
So I’ve ALWAYS held Hampton and HV with Bayless winning in 74 with the utmost Respect. And i was fortunate to have played against and met both great men. . Go Dogs. . Pull the Upset I’d be Ecstatic for them and their Fans.

I'm pulling for Hampton to make it back to Chattanooga.   I need to take a closer look at yalls quad & see who stands in the way up there.

The Road goes threw Chattanooga. None of the games will be gimmes but Tyner is the team to beat. I could be wrong but I don't think the West has anyone with more talent.

I’d absolutely LOVE IT for the Kids their Fans and the Community. . I was there cheering the Dogs on against an Unbelievably talented Westview Team.
It absolutely BROKE My Heart when they couldn’t punch it in before the half on 4th Down from the 1 to tie the game at 21. . Do i think it ultimately cost them a Championship. No. But it certainly sorta deflated the spirit on the Hampton sideline. I could feel it and i assume I’m not alone. Westview could have prolly beaten every single team in 3A last year minus Alcoa. They were big, fast, and athletic all over the field. Including Simpson at Qb who is a stud 5 star. Hampton held their own and actually led the game for awhile.
Just too much speed and athleticism.
But i was beyond proud that Hampton held them basically Even for a Half.
Westview is down from last season. If Hampton is capable of getting to Chatt and playing like they Did last Season I like their chances. Regardless I’ll be there to support All Carter Co Teams

Pujo . . Any acknowledgement i get from you Sir is a compliment. Yes I’ve been blessed to have been around a lot of greats from East Tn. . Fondly remember Coach Campbell roaming the sidelines at Hampton for many years he was one of the Best . Coach White also at Hampton in Basketball beating my Cyclones more than once.
Just getting out hustled by a more talented team. Not sure when and where you’re alma mater is but i think we can relate on the History.

I was there pulling for Hampton as well.  Felt the same way about failing to score right before the half.

I was there earlier to push Tullahoma to victory.  That was a great win for their program.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
