Gibbs??

If you truly mean that…. your credibility is lost as a knowledgeable Girls ranker.

Rossview may still be the team to beat, regardless if Cleveland won. They will add Adamo to the lineup soon which will make them hard to beat. Clarksville adds their HWT, and 114 they will be a different team as well.

Gibbs has 4 girls that will win against Cleveland and could be even uglier against Clarksville and Rossview.

Montgomery Central has a tough Dual team if they can fill a few holes. Summit as well.

BUT, only 3 teams with a shot to win now:

 Cleveland, Rossview, and Clarksville.

Opinions vary, but I count 6 girls on the Gibbs girls team who could notch wins in a potential dual.  If we take headthrows out of the equation, it could be more.

Please….. tell us the 6

I have a feeling the “head throw” comment is a jab towards Cleveland.

They  are competing for a State Title with a group of girls that have 1 year of experience….with the exception of 2 i believe. Take jabs all you want…. they are doing a great job giving them tools to excel.

I Still take Rossview over Cleveland in the finals.

Aren't you the Rasslinking? If so, you should already know who my 6 would be.

The headthrow comment isn't directed at any one team specific, it's across the board. I'd definitely like to see more girls get away from that and actually learn how to wrestle.

If I'm going to make a very early in the season prediction I'm going with Cleveland for both girls and boys in 1AA.   They have a lot but they work a lot and maximize all the potential they have.  I can't really argue it.  Like all sports there are ebbs and flows with respect to a program's dominance and one day the worm will turn but for now they are the out-work-everybody champs.   FYI: I have not the slightest affiliation with Cleveland.

Gibbs beating Rossview or Clarksville I find would be a really difficult challenge..

summit would need a few more girls to be a contender they don’t have a full lineup

watching the rossview and Cleveland dual was really good came down to the last match needing pin to secure the win but won by minor decision lost the dual by 1 point.

Gibbs has not put forth nowhere near their best lineup all year and they probably won't until it matters. They lost a razor close one to Tullahoma at sub state last year which they should have won and this Gibbs team has improved from last season especially at 114. From 107 through 138 they're tough to beat depending on match ups and none of those teams are beating them at 185. So that's 7 weight classes out of 12 they could potentially score pins in a dual not to mention Pittman is a heckuva coach.

Yea well nobody on their team would beat the 120 on either Clarksville nor Rossview

Gibbs only Sent 1 girl to the beast of the East and you see how that turned out for her..

The 3 Girls that have a chance at getting Ws plus the automatic at 185.

114 EC

132 HR possibly 138

138 KH possibly 145

“185” TL

the 132 may have to wrestle at 138 and same for KH bumped up.

    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
