.....the only stress that feller will feel in sale creek will only be what he puts on coaches self...

..and BigFoot423 thinkin that feller leavin a possible WAY down pool of talent in Decatur for sumthin talenter

Booger just sayin

I didn’t say anything about Sale Creek being better talent.
Just that Meigs is going to be way down and they will have higher expectations.

Yeah. Odd move from the outside looking in as he established Meigs as a very good program over the last 6 years and sale creek is a tiny 1A school that started playing football when? And hasn’t been very good since it began playing.

More money I bet. Plus sale creek isn’t good football program. He can turn that around quick with good administrator support. Sure will miss him

This move doesn't seem to make sense from the outside looking in. Meigs to sale creek?

It surprised me as well. I thought he might return to Rhea Co. when Pemberton retires. Even though it didn’t go as planned, his offer to step down at Rhea Co. so they could bring back Tim Hammontree is one of the most selfless moves I’ve seen in this game.

I'll be honest I didn't even know about that situation but I definitely figured when he left Meigs it would be for a larger school

    • Eagleville also loses Brown the catcher, Lamb CF, Mclemore RF (Heck of an athlete) and Drew the 1st baseman. They will be young.
    • Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!
    • Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.
    • Hopefully you’re not signing off for good. There are a lot of Oak Ridge fans that appreciate your comments.
    • Florida tried urban/rural split two years ago. 4 urban classes, 4 rural classes. Didn’t work. Next year they will have 7 regular classes, 1 urban class for small schools only.
