I'm glad you brought up Lamar and Clarkrange while saying "build it and they will come". He built that program from the ground up. He didn't have to recruit indirectly through his players in his AAU program either. And that's not a knock on TN Rush. Helping kids receive opportunities to play at the next level is great. At the end of the day, he's only at SC for these reasons. The best talent SC has had in decades, path to the Boro, and tired of waiting for Brent to retire. I've heard that retirement is coming soon so buckle up SC parents and fans. Will need to find some property in Byrdstown to keep drinking his kool-aid.

I’m not saying Lamar recruited at all but he had a lot of kids outside of Fentress County show up to play in that little gymnasium in Clarkrange.  Matt does an excellent job and it’s pathetic that people get on here and speak poorly of him. He is very deserving of any and all accomplishments and awards that come his way. Smith County would be wise to pay him what he’s worth to keep him.

Wait.  He can't coach remember?  No way they will want him back in PC right??    And even if they do, I am not 100% sure he will leave what he is building right now.   Based on what he has done so far, he will likely have some better landing places when he does decide to leave.  But for now he has that team rolling with young talent.   SC is one of 2 teams in the UC that has multiple wins over the UCR top 5 teams.  And they aren't even in the top 5!  Well thats a different story for a different day...

One team offered him 1200 not to play them because they were afraid he would beat them and he did! so what does that say about what he’s doing there!

Do you have proof of this...... Hard to believe that a High School program would pay someone $1200 to not play them. This is high school athletics not collegiate. Proof or it didn't happen.

Only district teams "Have to play" each other in basketball. The rest of the teams are chosen by each high school team's coaches and athletic directors, so this is not true at all.  If the team was afraid to schedule him, then they would have just gotten another team to take their place.

it is very possible that this can happen in high school

contracts are agreed to that could have language such as "Team A will play at Team B in 2024-2025 season ... Team B agrees to play at Team A in 2025-2026 ... failure to uphold this contract by either team will result in a payment of _______ to the injured party to cover loss of gate/concessions"

happens all the time
