Upperman will have to handle the pressure SS puts on the ball. Upperman plays outstanding defense so it could frustrate SS who’s used to running up the score. Upperman will need a big game from their freshmen to open up the lanes for Johnson.

That’s #12 right?

If I am South Side I go right at Abigail with Askins and Lawson and work inside out. Try to get her in foul trouble. South Side’s bigs are really good. Take it to the rim early and often. Upperman has to handle South Side’s pressure which will be tough. Turnover battle will likely play a big part. I got South Side by 8. Think this will be a defensive slugfest and South Side makes just enough plays to win.

After the experience of last year, I'm calling SS by double digits. I respect Upperman, but I think that loss last year by SS in the State Championship has been the driving force behind SS all year. They got beat by a team that done to them, what they normally do to others. It's going to be a battle.

Upperman handled their pressure well last year. The guard they lost was really good last year. It will be interesting for sure.

    • I have no issues with the Karns Middle School program.   Good coaches and he's with the kids he goes to school with.  He's a rising 6th grader who had to play with 6th grade kids last year because Karns didn't have enough kids for a 5th grade age team.  He's in a good place at this point.   My daughter is a single mom with 4 kids under 11 years old.  We help her out with logistics, so staying in our own area right now is important.  Once he gets to high school age, who knows what happens?  That bridge will be crossed when we get there.
    • I know he was a backup but I thought he filled in well when the starter went down. Never a bad thing to have a change of pace back
    • That would be a good get for them. Lowe always finds a way. Pretty sure they have their Rb from last year returning but not that line of beef
    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
