2023 5A/6A Mr. Football way early predictions.

Let’s hear em. I haven’t seen one for 6A or 5A, so I thought I would combine them.

 

Just a refresher, last season it was Class 5A RB Karns De'Sean Bishop and 6A Smyrna RB/LB Arion Carter.

Does Rhea County have a strong O line this year and who will be their new QB?  Everyone will be keying on Davis if both of those are not up to par

That's highly unlikely. Great kid, great athlete, but just not built to handle 30 - 40 carries a game.

Most of the line returning, but would not call it a strength

Carr at qb, not the same threat of run game or arm strength as Martin was

TT Hill will have a big year for Oakland, he is a name to watch.

He's gonna be sharing carries though and won't play past the 3rd quarter in most games. Not sure if he or any Oakland TB will have the numbers to win it

That's usually the case with Creasy-coached teams. He likes to spread the ball around between multiple guys, also a good point about the starters being pulled early in a lot of games. I don't think there have been very many skill players under Creasy to actually win Mr. Football, even going back to his Trousdale Co days. I know JaCoby Stevens did

True, but that speaks more to the depth Oakland has had at the position. Most Mr.Football winners are probably touching the ball at least 225-250 times over the regular season, the lead back at Oakland under Creasy will rarely get over 150. Maybe if they allowed voting to account for the postseason
