FORREST 2023

Recommended Posts

so far those "in the know" have floated names with no proof. its worse than staying silent. there are about 50 families wondering what the heck is going on, and no one seems to know anything. it, like the last 2 years, and really 4 of the 6 since 2018, is being run by keystone cops it appears.  Forrest had a chance to turn over a new leaf. the result:

i will amend this. it looks like they are really trying to get some new blood, scheme wise, in Chapel Hill. i regret calling the committee the keystone cops. this hire might succeed, and he might not, but i agree with the idea of getting a west coast/spread guy here. There WILL BE growing pains. But if Forrest can still be a physical team and add in this stuff, we might have something. emphasis on might. he has to get it done.

    • Not sure if y’all have heard the news that Trey Thompson is headed to Iowa this fall. He skipped his senior year. How does everyone see this shaking up things? What did yall see this summer from teams?    here’s what I’m thinking :  1 Upperman - reigning champs return nearly everything. favorite unless proven otherwise. Cobb looks unstoppable and has put on some muscle. As mentioned before if Chaffin leaves early for football, my views will change.  2a.  Alcoa - Only saw one game vs Southwind and it wasn’t a good showing. 2A runner up and returns nearly everything gets benefit of the doubt. Didn’t see much size at all.  2b. Fayette Ware - watched them at BCAT, no drop off - might be better. Soph Terry looks great. Had some skilled size with them. 2 or 3 guys that looked around 6-6/6-7. One rebounded and blocked shots don’t know his name.    4. Fulton - They were young last year and took their lumps. I expect them to make a big leap this year led by their Junior forward.    5. Jackson Northside - PG is dynamic and they’ve got some nice complementary pieces. They get small off the bench but have 6-5 that starts.  6. Jackson Southside - Will surprise people this season. They aren’t as depleted as folks may think.  Hume-Fogg and Bolivar are worth a mention but will have their hills to climb.    Thoughts?
    • You tried to be cute and you got called out. Just like your trying to be cute now. You probably from Westview or South Gibson. That is fine. Gibson County has been swimming in the deep end of the pool for a long time. Have a nice Gold Trophy Case. I am glad the poster above filled you in on W-L history with Westview since we are intimidated by their jersey. Since you don't know much about GIbson County, our goal every year is to win the Gold Ball and to do so by following rules and running a "clean" program.
    • See I was there when they had grass, so I'd have to go back up and see it. I should've known though as a lot of KY schools have been getting turf. Corbin is also just an hour at most maybe even less from where I live so a very doable trip.
    • Corbin has tons of support from their community.  Their field is located in downtown heart of Corbin, not on campus. It’s an amazing facility just upgraded 2 years ago with major improvements including a turf field.  They have an indoor facility at their school. Middle school program is top notch as well.  Friday night at Campbell Field is a must see for high school football fans.
    • Exactly, that’s why no team in TN goes to Kentucky to play, the officials up there are  awful, I’m not a blaze fan but they got cheated like crazy and they were not better than Blackman. Indiana might be right there with Kentucky when it comes to officiating
