cbg
Don't get too excited about a USA Wrestling Junior Duals match. Tennessee is much better than they were ten or fifteen years ago, but we still have a long way to go to be able to compete with New Jersey if both states put their very best kids against each other in a head-to-head competition. Not sure this was Tennessee's best lineup either, especially at the upper weight classes.

I'm not saying Tennessee would've been the strongest state in the field, but we could've contended for a medal with an actual full lineup of our best. TakedownClub
Jersey is considered to be a wrestling state, Tennessee not so much! If you assume that both states brought comparable talent based on the pool they pull from, You gotta give TN a little credit here...Right? This small, non-wrestling state is making a little noise and the state as a whole should be proud of what's happening here!
Biffmar4
Guys like the Uhorchuks, Colin Dupill, Hunter Mason, Cooper Hilton, Omaury Alvarez, and others would have definitely made us more competitive.

Ummmno
Uhorchucks, Atwood, Jakob, Desselle, Fowler, Syzmborski, Crowder, Bond, Calvin, Reep, Roark Askew, Deane, Bowers all would've made us a strong team worthy of contending. Desselle is the only one who gets a pass as he's still rehabbing. Why didnt any of the others go?
TakedownClub
Reep & Bowers were on the team Roark & Desselle are still rehabbing major injuries Atwood had another commitment Calvin, & Deane never responded to the invite (neither did their coach) Askew, & Bond wrestle for Team Georgia The Uhorchucks, Jakob, Fowler, Syzmborski, Crowder all Declined

cobrakid8
Good showing by team TN, sucks we weren't able to have all of our best wrestlers out there and I am sure NJ feels the same way. These type of tournaments are great to get some mat time, but I am not quite sure unless the best are made to come that they have a showing of who really is the best out there. Little breakdown of NJ below: NJ didnt bring a state champ at all and brought a total of 7 NJ state placers their highest placers on the team were 3-4th place finishers with Almeyda-132, Rella Jr-165 and Rocco Dellagatta at 285 who got 4th at 190 during season. They have 6 guys that didn't qualify for NJ state tournament and 2 others that did and did not place. Maybe he aged out but Rocco's brother Michael did win state at 190 this past year, but NJ only brought 15 wrestlers for the 15 weight classes.
