If they were serious about a new school they would have used the Covid money on it. Instead they used it to expand Hunter Elementary and shut down Keenburg.

From what I understand is they're gonna make hunter the biggest elementary in carter co,i truly believe that they will be shutting more schools down,maybe not in the next couple of yrs but it will be sooner rather than later.They really need to do something,Hampton elementary is busting at the seems,and Cloudland elementary has empty classrooms.Don't know if any of you guys have heard about the new district rules, supposably kids are being sent back to the school they're districted to,so maybe that will help even out some numbers

I've heard valley forge might be next.  I know there's been talk of either using the chs building for 6-8th or just housing them all at the elementary which would make sense from a financial standpoint.  From a parents viewpoint, I hate the idea.  But I can also see why it should be done.  Roan mountain is now in the hands of the citizens club.  There are fewer young adults than ever living up here.  I just don't want it to happen while we are loaded in girls sports.  We have a talented sophomore class that I'd like to see finish under coach Birchfield.

I'm not sure what you mean it's in the citizens club hands?i thought there was about the same amount of young adults as older folks.i know more and more people that were born in Roan mtn are moving to other places,both my brother,and myself have moved away,not for any other reason that we couldn't afford to purchase anything in roan mtn,but that's another subject.so is Cloudland gonna have enough to play

Had their way against Volunteer, Don't think that meant a whole lot, Should be a much bigger test against McDowell this week.

Cloudland will be at avery the same night.  We had a lineman get hurt doing rodeo last night.  No broken bones but severe concussion.  May be out for an extended time
