So a Cleveland team with 8 offensive and 7 defensive starters back from a team that beat WV 34-3 last season and 72-3 combined the last 2 seasons lost 20-14?  Wow

Wow, I guess that what you get with used car salesman HC and Twitter guru DC. Did the Walker Valley coaches get to drink in the coaches office last night?

He is making to much money to lose to Walker Valley

Breaking News, a team still has to put in the work to acheive success, no matter how much money you pump in. Using this logic, Quarles would have been fired after 17 games at Maryville and Tygard might not have a 2nd season at Blackman where he improved his W-L record by 5 games

So the team is not putting work or is it the new system?

3 games into a new system. Tygard said it usually takes a season to get the offense on track. The offense struggled last night. Had some chances to score but it just wasn’t our night. Schedule doesn’t get any easier so have to move on and focus on a really good Farragut team.

He doesn't have the personnel to run his system like he wants to. A lot of his skill players are going both ways. No depth. And with the mountain of penalties. For them (Cleveland) to have kept it close going into the half like they did was surprising. 110yds in penalties in the first half alone netting them 92yds of total offense. WV started their avg drive either in Cleveland territory or on their own forty to forty-five yd line. Couple all of this with an inexperienced qb and it was the recipe for disaster. There was no explosiveness by the RB's to getting into the holes. They looked timid to me. WV just wanted it more...

    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
    • No sir. I watched it specifically and it was very dirty. He cleated the boy on purpose. Apparently, it’s an issue in football as well from what several schools have said. That said, looking forward to a good game 3. ER hit it well in game 2.
    • He is the transfer. 5star spoke on him in their new qb1 series. Didn’t list em as a transfer but I knew the name
    • Gunner Warren was the second starter, freshman. SP #1 arm impressed me last night.
