Murvul was front and center whining about Alcoa's schedule. FACT!

The term "Clubbing Baby Seals" comes from multiple maryville posters right here on Coacht.

Then, the whining that Coach Rankin would not step up and play the "Big Game"

Soon as Alcoa topped murvul for total state championships.....here came the cross town whining again. Whining that it is to easy for Alcoa.

Murvul posters whining about Alcoa needs to move up, which is classic, after there was so much whining about maryville playing in the 4A classification so long. Talk about being hypocritical.

No "narrative" here.....It's REAL!

Okay buddy. Whatever helps you sleep at night. It’s crazy some fans care more about “sticking it to Maryville” than they do their own teams’ success. Just enjoy your team’s success and stop whining about everything.

I attended this game once.

Twas in Alcoee on a Thursday.  A few years back. Twas the hottest day on Earth.  Game was delayed because of the triple digit heat.

One of the best HS game atmospheres I've ever witnessed.  Both student sections were over the top.  I enjoyed every minute.

The band burgers were delicious.  I had one at halftime.  Went back for another.

Anyways,   I really wished this game were on a Thursday or Saturday every year.  I know it's high school football & Friday nights are special,  but I'm selfish & wish everyone could attend this rivarly just once in their lifetime.  I hope to make it back one day.  Good luck.  Go Red Rebels!!

And there’s the difference. Majority of Maryville people respect Alcoa and root for them outside of the Maryville game. Most Alcoa fans, like you, have no respect. And that’s fine. I would be sour too if I had only won 25 games against a team in 92 tries. That’s tough.

Not sure you want to start that conversation. Anyways, think I’m done with this pointless conversation. It’s like trying to talk to a wall. Hoping for a great game tonight.

Hard to argue facts! Especially when the same refs travel to all Blount County games and collect their daily day jobs checks from murvul city.

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
