#2 Oakland @ #8 Ravenwood

Looking at scores, common opponents and things of that nature lead me to believe this will be a Oakland win.  Ravenwood defense looks to be inconsistent and has given up a good deal of points to some very average to below average teams.  I believe at least two of their wins are against 1-7 teams and one against a 0-8 Franklin team.  They certainly appear to be able to score points on offense but I would assume that other than Alcoa, they haven't faced a defense as strong as Oaklands.  I look for Oakland to dominate in all three phases.  Don't know about what kind of kicker Ravenwood has but in the last 8 years that I ran the scoreboard during the Creasy era, I never saw a kicker like the ones Oakland has had.  Pretty consistent touchbacks and if 3 are needed, your chances are much better than average of getting them.  Oakland by 21 at least.

Speak of Ravenwood. Whatever happened to the quarterback transfer they were supposed to get from independence, I know some people were talking about it in the summertime. How did he end up going to a school which may or may not be near Knoxville and also be called the tornadoes. Did they get outbidding or something? What happened there?

Sounds like a running back who may or may not be from Gallatin transferring to a school with the nickname Bulldogs. They must have outbid everybody for him too since we're gonna assume you have to bid on a players services for him to transfer

I think I recall the transfer from Gattatin who transferred to a school that may or may not have a nickname, Bulldogs, unfortunately, it wasn’t his first option. His first option was school, which may or may not have the nick name Spartans, unfortunately, his transfer papers were too late, so since he had already moved to Knoxville, he had no other option.

Mtf I know you wanting to discuss your team and there's alot of good teams in 6a but you guys are just on a different level right now, Oakland isn't going to always win it but there isn't a team in 6a right now to challenge Oakland. For Oakland not to win it this year then the team has to implode like the rb stole the qb girlfriend and yall two best receivers help him do it so they're beefing and the whole offensive line is tired of hearing about it so they stop blocking, that upsets the defense cause they're tired of the offense playing like garbage so they shut it down, that's more likely to happen than someone the rest of the way keeping it within 17, the better post would be will Oakland have a running clock throughout to a state championship

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
