Obviously didn't play very good defense. But I've said it before. Don't get bent out of shape about loses until after the Christmas tournaments. Poore's teams usually pick it up a notch or two around that time. Only one senior on this team. I suspect it will be rough going in the Arby's though.

Maybe in the Alpha too before the Arby's.

A school that size and only  has 1 senior????  What is up with that?

I was there tonight also and it looked like db has a lot of attitudes on the team and coach spent half game begging to refs instead of coaching but I may be wrong

I guarantee you're wrong........because you've never been right.

I was there tonight. DB has a good team. Tonight, it was about match ups. My opinion is SG out matched DB. SG has plenty of length, good ball handlers, and the shooters to boot. 3 of SG’s key contributors fouled out tonight and was still able to get out of there with a W. The guys that came in off the bench played well.
SG, they’re good! They have the pieces and the coach, just need to play a little smarter and stay healthy. I gotta a good feeling about this team. It’s a long season and 1 game at a time.

DB’s solid and will be okay.  I could see them being a handful in the post season.

No doubt about it, South Greene was just the better team tonight.

Me and my wife are good friends with Hayworth's parents. They told us that Poore instigated a new offense yesterday.

Not sure why they changed it up after a 5-0 start or what even changed about it. I mean, they still scored 70 tonight which is high for a high school team.

South Greene was deadly from deep. We were abysmal from the free throw line. Especially Dawson. Think he made 1-10 from the charity stripe.

I just think Poore looks at the first half of the season as practice or scrimmage. Sure, he wants to win every game, but I don't think that's 100% his plan. He's preparing for the second half and the tournament.

Wacko wacko

you are funny….coaches don’t like losing any games, especially to a little school like SG…they are good, sure, but no way they should beat your db!

just watch and see the future

They don't like scheduling games but Poore knew SG would be one of the better teams in the area.  Hoese knew what D-B had.  Coaches that expect their teams to make a run in tournaments try to get their teams playing against that level of competition.  That's why they play these games.  You don't want to lose, but they would rather take a loss now in non-conference action than in the post season elimination games.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
