Good 20+ win for Coffee over McMinn today.

The real test will be versus Bradley.  Thing with Coffee County is they have all these blowouts and then when they get in a tight ballgame the consensus is they are not prepared to handle it, especially away from their home gym.  Coaching also comes into play when tight games happen, we all have seen how Coach Cope does in close games.

Yeah I noticed Coffee County winning last night over McMinn Central then losing to Bradley Central today. Coffee County and Bradley Central both must be pretty good.

Coffee co is very good and white co looked like the real deal last night!

Coffee Co has talent every year and they waste it. Same ole story just a broken record at this point. Cupcake schedules typically don't work out, although they actually have some good talented teams to play this year. They have two twin tower mismatches inside ( pretty sure both are back) are dominate but the coach seems to forget that at times. The FC transfer helps out maybe recruiting pays off for them this time.

Coffee County looked pretty good when I say them over the holiday. Their post has size and can play. If you collapse to help with her they have guards that can make you pay.

CC has great guard play and they have a post that makes it easy for them.  Their guards are all relatively young and should be good for a few years.  But as the previous post said it is always the same story, can they can get it done in February and March?

Lincoln County has looked very good early on and I would see Coffee County and Lincoln County being the favorites in their region and both making sectionals.

Has anyone seen Shelbyville?  I’ve heard they are much improved.  I’ve also been told Columbia is a fun team to watch, but I have yet to see them in action.  I might try to get down to Lawrence County and see what they have this season.  They have graduated a lot of talent over the last few years so it’ll be interesting to see how they rebuild a once dominant program.

Lincoln County looked very impressive last night versus a tough Lawrence County team.  Lincoln County looked like they had a couple players injured but still found a way to beat a Lawrence County team that just hung around.  I have not seen Murfreesboro Central play this season but from what I have been told I think it will come down to that last game of the year between Magnet and Lawrence County for first place.  Lincoln County should be able to push Coffee County, but I still think Coffee County has the depth and skill to beat a well coached Lincoln County basketball team.

Did you see them versus Blackman?  I saw where they beat Blackman, I think Blackman will be one of those teams nobody will want to play at the end of the year as they will just keep getting better each week.

You seen Creekwood this year?? I seen where Cheatham County beat them. Didn't know if Cheatham was that good or it was an off night for Creekwood. I thought I heard Creekwood was supposed to be pretty good. We have them Friday Night at their place.

I have not seen Creekwood but they are usually a pretty well coached team with shooters.  Hard to tell how teams are right after Thanksgiving with practices, tournaments, injuries and everything else the holiday season can bring.  Good luck Friday.

    • The golf preseason came to a close Friday at Indian Hills as the I-24 Invitational hosted by Rockvale was contested. Webb School won the title by 13 shots 295-308 over Rockvale. Rockvale girls won the title by five shots over Providence  Christian 155-`160 after the Lions won the 1913 Invitational at Johnson City by 10 shots over Greeneville. The course was wet and muddy in the morning but the rain finally broke and some good scores were had. The Webb School boys had Phet Phothong score a 69 while Carter  Burks shot 70 following up his 72 in Johnson City on Monday. The girls had Solia Mechling of Rockvale lead the way with a 73 in taking the title as they improved their score by 30 shots over Monday in East Tennessee as they found the homestead Indian Hills to their liking.  Rockvale and Central Magnet will head to the Battle of Hermitage on Wednesday July 31st. On Tuesday Stewarts Creek and Smyrna will do battle at Smyrna Golf Course  with an early tee time of 11 AM. The next day Oakland, Webb and Nolensville will tee off at Champions Run beginning at 9 AM. Eagleville will open on July 29th heading to Lawrenceburg and the Country Club awaiting host Lawrence County and several other teams to tee up the regular season. The season will end in October at Sevierville when state champions will be crowned.
