They’re building something special there. They have 4 Varsity games scheduled & 5 JV. They are trying for a 5th Varsity game. Beat them now because they will be good in the future. They are building a football field there I think but the rich pricks of Farragut won’t let them get lights so they are possibly looking at property to build a stadium & field with lights

What teams are on the schedule? Will they be in a private school, Division 2 region?

I can’t believe they’re not playing any division games, especially since they are in Division II-A East. It looks like most of the teams there have already made their schedules, unfortunately. I don’t know if they were just late to the party or if no one really wanted to play them. I’m sure they’re going to find another out-of-state team. I don’t know if it’s possible, but last year their varsity team took on Bearden’s junior varsity team, and it counted as a varsity game for them. I wonder if they would do something like that.

Also, they have a pretty solid team for what it is. They got a lot of additions during the off-season. I mean it’s a young team, but they still have a few seniors.

People are reluctant to play them as Concord, Pickett.Co & Hancock. Co are on attempt 101 to restart football. I wish all 3 the best of luck

From what I gather, they are only playing a JV schedule this season and next year a full D-II East class A schedule. I was told that they are investing a lot financially into the football program at Concord.

I’ve heard those rumors too. There has been a lot of money sitting for a while, ready to be used for the athletic department. It’s a very cramped campus with not a lot of space, the majority of space is parking. However, I’m sure they could somehow create a turf football field for the soccer team to play on, and maybe build a baseball and softball field where the old soccer field was. But I don’t know. I’m sure they’ll figure something out if they have to purchase more space.

Farragut does not like them & the nearby residents do not want them playing football at night at Concord so they are looking to purchase land elsewhere for their football stadium

    • I hated to hear about it and know everyone in Greeneville is grieving. Dabney always had a smile on his face and was loved by everyone in Greeneville.  He wasn't afraid to hit you either on the field from his Safety Position. RIP #8 http://www.hudl.com/v/2Mut0Z
    • Idk but I think their coach has had time to implement things his way throughout the program. Thats the big difference. He's a good coach and kids from every team he's coached love him.
    • They just lost like 5 or so big guns, but 3 of those were receivers. 11 and 4 were both seniors. They are very deep at WR this year though. And in their Tennessee-style offense, WRs get schemed open even if they’re not so good, similar to the Vols
    • Meigs speed and talent on both sides of the ball (WRs/DBs) is impressive.  It’s scary to think how good the offense could be if 5 was a natural QB. Hes so athletic and obviously great on the ground, but with the weapons they have on the edge, the offense could be dang near unstoppable with the innovative play calling from Baker/Simbeck and the talent they have.  But it’s small town HS football, you’re not gonna see perfect offenses I know.    ** and if anyone can develop a QB, it’s probably Simbeck and Baker who played it themselves.
