Does anyone know if this dual is still taking place tomorrow and if so what time and where? I hated I missed it last year. Heard it was a wild environment. Hoping to take my son this year.

Soddy is truly elite in my opinion this year. Signal has their studs in the lowerweights but does Signal have anything in the upperweights besides the Davis kid that will give them a chance?

They will wrestle Thursday night at Soddy. Should be like Soddy vs Red Bank and Signal vs Hixson with the winners squaring off after that. I’ll be interested to see who the representatives are from region 3 that should take on Soddy and Signal for the right to go to state duals.

Thanks cobra! Do you what time the matches start and is it at the high school or the old off campus gymnasium?

Any predictions?

At this time I’m not really sure what times they will be. I’d say prob 6 or 6:30 for first matches. I heard the round gym(the wrestling arena) but I’m not sure it would be big enough for this, so if I hear different I’ll let you know.

My prediction is as bad as they want to win against red bank and prob 5-10 point win against Signal. I think people are sleeping a little bit on Signal but they still have 2 Uhorchuk brothers and their 106 is really good also along with Davis plus plenty more at some of the lower weights. If they can limit bonus points and win some by bonus they have a chance to win the region. Soddy has a hole or 2 in their lineup and also where they are strong sits a Uhorchuk, so it’s going to be a barn burner plus we haven’t seen much of Turner for Soddy this season so far. I have 5 that Signal should win and 6 that Soddy should win, the rest are toss ups and that doesn’t even include moving around of the lineups.

Soddy is about 20 points better than Signal with full varsity line ups.

I'll say 45-24 Soddy.

Not so sure about that. Even in just rankings Signal has someone ranked higher than Soddy at 106, 113, 120, 132 and 175. While 126 kid is even ranked for Signal. Soddy most likely loses 3 and maybe even to pin when facing Jojo and Ethan along with Jackson. If Signals win the other 2 it could make a long night. Soddy most likely wins with Duncan, Cosper, Turner, Ross and maybe with Laxton and with Heavy’s you just never know. It depends on who has to send out first at what weight. We haven’t seen much of Signal but they have a good team and some good coaches, I don’t think there is any way Soddy beats them by 20 although I would love to!

106, 150 and 175 are 50/50 matches.

Soddy will get more bonus points on the other matches they are expecting to win.

Looking at the line ups,  if Flavin or Jenkins drops to 113 for Soddy it'll create more distance for Soddy.  There may be an additional 2lb allowance due to inclimate weather.

Don’t believe Flavin can make it to 113, heck that’s where he missed weight last year and didn’t even get to qualify for state because of it, 120 is the lowest he will be able to drop and you will have Flavin, Duncan and Lewis, but also within that is 2 Uhorchuks and none of my Soddy boys are going to beat either of those 2, as I said it depends on how much Signal can move things around. As far as 106, I give that edge to Higdon although I love Luke. Higdon has been here before as he’s not a freshman. So I don’t think that matchup is 50/50. Jenkins is an ok wrestler as is Caden, but I’m not sure either can beat Davis so you most likely have wins by signal right in a row from 106, 113, 120 or 126 if they move JoJo up. Their 126 is actually very solid with Lynch also which lengthens that lineup. Soddy needs to move Lewis up to 138 and give up 132 if that is where Ethan stays but I think JoJo and Ethan both pin whoever they get even if that is Duncan and Lewis who are some of the top wrestlers on Soddy. Now Soddy wins most of the middle and upper weights, although Davis beats a very good Rawlinson so it depends on what moves are made there also. I’d be pleasantly surprised if Soddy wins by more than 10.

Bro, please stop, you are not funny and you are casting a bad light on the Cleveland program, which I know is not in any way represented by you, but its bad taste and quite annoying. Leave your bitterness in the other thread and move on. I promise your life will feel more fulfilling if you just let the little things go.

    • Why did the coach get rehired after she was let go as an assistant by the former Warren County coach and the current AD?? Is that accurate?? I am very familiar with situations like this. Suprised lawsuits haven't happend before. If the coach unfairly let the player go, I think she has a shot because it cost her a scholarship. No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team. Not going to happen. There are bad hires like this a bunch and kids are treated unfairly by coaches that can't coach a lick and have super long ropes somehow. Amazing how some of these coaches get hired and keep their job.
    • I am going to assume you are not a lawyer, and most reasonable lawyers would not say the lawsuit has a zero percent chance in court. I agree with you that a coach has the ability to dismiss anyone from a team. However, Ms. Winfree was never presented with the opportunity to present her witnesses and have them tell the coaches and administrators what they heard. A lawyer could better explain the lawsuit and the grounds to you. Before you start making wild assumptions about the lawsuit, would it be too much to ask that you do a little legal research first? The lawsuit is dealing with due process, loss of property, and defamation.   You can read the lawsuit here: https://bdnewsletter.files.wordpress.com/2024/04/doc-1-complaint-filed-4-18-2024.pdf
    • The administration took the path of backing the coach and whispering to people that the kid was a problem. The reality is that the kid was never a problem on a team or classroom. The player says she has witnessed who back her not saying the f-word.  Why did the coach make that story up and other stories? I am not Sigmund Freud and do not have an answer for the ex=-coach's behavior..
    • I think they have they coach they want close to being done. I guess we will all see how this plays out. I hope the hire a good one. There are some players in the box for the next coach to work with.
