I said early on I’m going to take York against the field in this tournament. I still stand by that. If they do win it all they will have earned it. GC is absolutely loaded with talent and will be a very tough team to beat just like McMinn Central was yesterday. no easy games in this tournament for AA

Appreciate the compliment. York is very good as is GP and Loretto. We knew AA was loaded. Always a blessing to be here for sure.

Congratulations to the Gibson Female Pioneers on the hard fought win over Huntingdon Female Mustangs. Huntingdon Female Mustangs have young talent coming up and will be back. These two semifinal games this afternoon should both be dandies. Gibson Female Pioneers are good but so is York Female Dragons. York Female Dragons will try and breath fire on Gibson Female Pioneers. In the other game you will have Gatlinburg Female Highlanders taking on Loretto Female Mustangs. These will be two great games. None of these four teams will be able to mercy rule the other teams. It will not happen. I guarantee it. Do you want to bet me? I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.

I will say this.  Everyone said going in that the quality of basketball in AA was great and yesterday didn’t disappoint.  Outside of Bradley central the next 3-4 best teams are in AA.

Yes AA games were all good yesterday!  There are some really average teams that played in 1A and 3A games the last couple of days.

Crazy things happen up here. Good to see you today and congratulations on a big win. That was a great game. Both teams played their hearts out. Nothing would surprise me tommorow. All AA games today were in the single digits. Good luck and good to see you again.

Good luck to you, but don't think you'll need it.  The ole ball coach will pull this one out !

Gibson Co will win by 8 points. Turner will contain Beaty to the best she can and keep her below 20 points. York doesn't have anyone to stop Hart.

Gatlinburg Pittman will be too quick for Loretto and win by 10-12

GC should play zone, Beaty can’t be guarded 1 on 1, Beaty will guard Hart and do a good job at it. This one will be tight

If York shoots over 60% again, a zone will be the end of GC! I would go man and trap/double Beaty everytime she gets anywhere near the 3 point line. GC is definitely the more athletic team! Make someone else beat ya! She can get into the paint easier against a zone by just good ball movement. If Gibson Co can keep Beaty out of the paint area they will have a good chance to advance! I’ll take GC by 4, I still believe York is a year away from taking the gold ball back to Jamestown!

We have played them twice in the last two years, once this past summer. Hard to guard her man to man. McMinn Central couldn't guard her man to man and they can play defense. Will be interesting for sure. Westview done a great job guarding them the last two years.

I have just seen what zone has done to them the last 2 years

I would do what Smith county did on her and just throw the kitchen sink at her! They had a good shot to beat them by keeping the pace slow and keeping the score low. They made the younger girls from York , Cooper and Werner beat them. Its definitely the blueprint i would go by. I doubt they shoot over 60 percent today on GC, but I saw York win a lot of games this year when they weren’t shooting the best! Scary thing for 2a is they will be even better next year!

Yep Westview's zone has been pretty lethal to many. I know we will have to rebound and get the 50/50 balls. They do a good job with that too.

    • What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.
