He's done a great job at NG. They can absolutely win that region this year with that passing game.

He definitely  knows football and has his dad on the staff who was on the staff at Greeneville when he played there.  This is the first year he feels like he has the kids that can throw the ball around so everyone can't target on Yeshua Vaught like they have been able to in the past.  I'm happy for him and knew it was a great higher and the kids would buy in to what he was preaching.

It was a great and smart hire by them for sure.  This is the first year that he feels like he has a mature team and can pass and not just hand the ball to Yeshua Vaught which everyone has keyed on the last few years.

It was Sunbright in 2000 went 10-0 but then region 1A lost all of their first round games that year.

I played against rocky and Gabe Vaught.  Back then NG was just a tune up for us.  They have 3 wins over us in 50 years so it would definitely be a huge deal for them to win out.  I'd take advantage of it cause Cloudland has some beasts coming up.

I watched them scrimmage Cloudland.  They can throw the ball really well for 1A and they are getting there physically. They have a real shot at it if they stay healthy to win the region.

      I think Gibson County is a top five team this next season but I do agree they will drop off a lot after this year.  Westview lost a ton and will be down this season and hopes of returning to glass house again is slim.  The run they have had is super impressive!

      My take on GC for this year: Based on what I saw last year and heard this summer, I’m not sure GC could surprise me next year with any outcome. Wilkins is a great coach - they could win the district and region and go to Murfreesboro. They could also come in third in the district and not get out of region. The two returning starters are very talented but Guru is right that they didn’t always play hard last year. The other three starters are good enough in their roles for GC to be successful. There is no depth. Foul trouble could be a problem - Wilkins may avoid it by playing a lot of zone. An injury would be catastrophic. I hope they have a big year and Wilkins rides off into the sunset in Murfreesboro because, without some significant transfers, there are some tough years coming in the next few.

      Daniel Boone coming down to 3A makes this much tougher. They added a couple transfers to the Flores girl. Cocke Co, Northview, Greeneville, and Daniel Boone - only two headed to Murfreesboro.
