What I am hearing from a few different AD’s is the TSSAA will probably (like in the next two years) charge the rules to allow 1 free transfer. Not sure how that will work out yet, but yikes! Let’s get some NIL up in here!!!

Ten years from now it's going to be anything goes. They'll ruin all sports at all levels. You could have players transferring multiple times in one season. You could have a team that gets their QB injured and they'll just grab another one off another team and play him the next week. Or a team that makes the playoffs loading up with players from other teams that didn't make it. You'll have players getting paid, parents given houses, cars etc. Whoever has the richest booster club members will have the best teams.

I suspect it is to some extent, but it's kept on the down low. Ten years from now it will be the norm and all out in the open.

It has become beyond ridiculous. It has almost completely taken out the “hometown” feel of High School football. Something altogether different from what I grew up loving as a kid in OR.

That's already happened with the Flores girl in girls basketball last year.  Went from Boone to Knox Catholic back to Boone all before Christmas last season.

    • We have 2 PG's that will be added to the lineup and another guard and all are athletic and can handle ball pressure. Gibson County beat Westview 4 times in 2024. Westview brought in a Miss Basketball Candidate from South Fulton last year and you want to say Gibson County has a mental hump against Westview. I tell you what you put her on Gibson County's squad and Westview would have had a mental hump. Here is a fact. They wouldn't have won it without her last year. Last I looked Gibson County has played with who we got on our campus. Let's see how Westview does this year with who they got on their campus. I do think they will be pretty good but I don't like shots being taken at my school especially from Westview.
    • Smith County fans are delusional is they are wanting to get rid of Dyer. If they think they are supposed to be some powerhouse of a football program that wins 10+ games every year they need a reality check. Never have been that good of a football program and probably never will. It’s too hard for a small rural place to be consistently good every single year
    • If you’re talking about when they lost to Corbin HS out of Kentucky(4A school in KY) in 2017, they lost by 1 point and Corbin went 14-2 that year in Kentucky so to say they got “taken behind the woodshed by a mediocre out of state team” is a bit of a stretch. You act like Alcoa never loses at all. They lose games every year, granted mostly to Maryville but other teams have beaten them in the regular season. Alcoa just turns into another animal in the playoffs. Winning is a learned skill and it’s an advantage that Alcoa has over everyone when the postseason rolls around
    • Carthage is returning QB will be his 3rd years starting and a Jr.He should be coming around.A soph tailback that got a lot of exp as a freshman.Biggest problem is the line. They have a couple of good athletes that will make plays but the rest still remain to be seen.Size is not a problem.New OC will be interesting. He is known to be a trickster but a genius in some peoples mind.Coach Dyer better get the ball rolling.I'm hearing a lot of eyes will be on him this year.GO OWLS
