I found out Eli Stephenson was on the Macon staff after almost unilaterally ruining the Forrest program as the head coach.

I was surprised I woke up this morning. I thought the end times had commenced.

Eli Stephenson is a great coach, but even better person. Not sure what you have against him personally. When at Forrest, seemed like he had great success too! HE was with Shoulders at RBS, and it was only fitting that he was back with him when they brought a state title home to Macon!

White was very good before their QB was injured. Macon had zero answers for him in the first game.

This Macon team was trailing 27-14 with 3 minutes remaining in the 3rd vs DeKalb and it was a very real possibility that they would not make the playoffs. Whatever happened that flipped the switch in that game made this team completely different. They out scored their opponents 368- 103(most of that came against Anderson Co.) after that and looked dominant in 4 of the 5 playoff games. Until this season they only had one road playoff win and that was just last season at Red Bank.

I have watched Tiger football for my whole life and we were always the butt of everyone’s joke. I never thought I would see this happen and am so proud of the people (players, coaches, parents) who worked hard to create something I thought was impossible.

My wife graduated from Macon County, she choked up yesterday as the clock wounded down. She basically said the same thing about the years of ineptitude

This thread has been all over the place on unrelated side bars. This game was about 2 teams that fought hard to get to the Championship game. No matter which one had the hardest path there, no matter which other teams should have been there, it was Macon and Melrose that made it there. 2 teams that want to make a positive difference in their communities and give the kids a chance to realize their dreams. That’s powerful and life changing for each of these areas that face their own set of challenges and opportunities. So miss me with the nonsense and hats off to both teams for the effort.
