that Cain feller is a coachin summagun and got darn near 80 W's in 7 seasons up there in Baxter....if the Baxteranians ant plannin that statute of him to be erected out there on exit 280 at the Baxter Park and Ride....then that new mayor needs to go back to lawing...

....also thinkin that cain feller also earned the right to hold Baxter hostage over artificial grass to replace that ankle breakin field

...and thats without a gold ball

The real issue there is that Caine doesn't have anyone on staff that knows turfgrass management. He let go the coach that maintained the field but ended up asking him to come back after learning this, but the coach declined. Letting the Middle School and peewee teams play on it didn't help either. IMO the money would be better spent on upgrading the bleachers and field house. 

Can't argue with the rest though, certainly the best HC Upperman has had ever. Ain't nothing wrong with a silver ball either; better than an empty trophy case 😂

Isn’t Putnam Co building 2 new High Schools? It’s a lot of money to pour into a school which may ultimately drop down to 2A eventually

1 new HS schefuled in 3-4 years. On the White County side of Cookeville. It will essentially split the Cookeville HS school population from 2200 to two schools of 1100. Probably like two 1250 by the time they build it.

I have heard another one after that is possible. 

Still though it’s hard to see any school system justify spending money on a field upgrade for an existing school while building a new school. Going to turf and the stadium upgrade would be a large investment. I looked it up and turf starts at 250K and up.

I agree, turf is a large expense but probably well worth it in the long run. Could UHS not get some large donors like Cookeville High School to pitch in and help with the costs?

Pretty sure Averitt paid for Cookeville's turf..

It pays for itself in the long run. In other news, seen where Virgina Tech offered the Chaffin kid. Hearing Georgia Tech is not far behind and will offer. Looks like the bog boys finally realized who he is.

I'm pretty sure you're right and that's what I was getting at, would Averitt or another big donor/business not help support the cost or pay for UHS to be turfed?

I'm not sure.. Upperman's football facilities have been behind for a while, especially for a Putnam County High School.. I know all of their money is filtered into basketball, but with all the success Caine has had there, they won't even help him get a new weight room, let alone turf.
