Kenyon Buford commits to Middle Tennessee

He did, but reconsidered. He said that he got caught up in the national championship stuff and had his head turned. Also, I think that he has relatives in Ohio.

It's not uncommon for someone to commit verbally and then change their mind. I am glad to see him stay at home, and I imagine his folks are too. Much shorter drive to the games ;)

Go get 'em, little bit.

my thoughts on that is that the Ohio State coach doing the recruiting made an offer or the promise of an offer and when the head man saw they had other higher rated linemen available to them he nixed the offer but it was never communicated to Buford who was left to twist slowly in the wind while the Buckeyes got other commitments from linemen they wanted more. Unscrupulous, but that seems to be something that a lot of BCS schools do.

We are very glad to have Mr. Buford as a Blue Raider, like his father before him.

I think all kids reconsider when they are in that position. Unless it has been a life long dream for someone to play at a certain school, then it is easy for a 17-18 year old to have their heads turned. I think Kenyan really believed he was going to Ohio State when he verbally committed there, but upon reflection realized he could play major college football without leaving his family behind.

I did not mean to make it sound like the national championship caused him to choose OSU. But it is hard to not be impressed by something like that.
