Alot goes into being a head football coach and someone needs to make sure that they can be successful before they take a head job. Things to consider:

1. How many coaches can you take with you.

2. booster club

3. athletes

4. academics

5. fan support

6. equipment budget

7. etc...

It's not quite as simple as many feel. Make sure you can be successful in every way before you take a head coaching position or you may be on the outside looking in after a few poor seasons.

Is this the same Scott Murray that played at Smith County during the late 80's? If so he would be a great choice for this position. I had the opportunity to work with Coach Murray for two years at Smith County. He knows the game and how to get the most out of the young men he coaches. GOOD LUCK Scott!! :D:D

I don't think I should say how I know, but let it suffice to say, I'm no longer in the running for the job. I don't know which of the men will be the head football coach at Stratford, but I know I'm not going to be the new coach. I'm sure they will be in good hands with whichever coach they hire. I'm back hitting the beat shopping around the state... I'll be in West Tennessee tomorrow doing another interview. Good luck coaches!
