Stratford and Murray

why in the world would murray NOT take startford ? he wants to be a head coach so bad he can taste it and he has a chance to do that ? who has he told that he is thinking it over ? he told me he would take it if it was offered.

Alot goes into being a head football coach and someone needs to make sure that they can be successful before they take a head job. Things to consider:

1. How many coaches can you take with you.

2. booster club

3. athletes

4. academics

5. fan support

6. equipment budget

7. etc...

 

It's not quite as simple as many feel. Make sure you can be successful in every way before you take a head coaching position or you may be on the outside looking in after a few poor seasons.

My sources report that as of this time Coach Murray has not been offered the position. I do feel that he would accept it if he is fortunate enough to get the call. Good luck Scott.

Is this the same Scott Murray that played at Smith County during the late 80's? If so he would be a great choice for this position. I had the opportunity to work with Coach Murray for two years at Smith County. He knows the game and how to get the most out of the young men he coaches. GOOD LUCK Scott!!

I am not real sure where I will be next year. I have a few options. Yes one of those does have the acronym SHS. Where is Coach Murray now. I would like to touch base with him. I have not talked to him in a while.

ELA, Have you been told your out of the running? What makes you think so? I don't think anyone has been given any info as yet!

I don't think I should say how I know, but let it suffice to say, I'm no longer in the running for the job. I don't know which of the men will be the head football coach at Stratford, but I know I'm not going to be the new coach. I'm sure they will be in good hands with whichever coach they hire. I'm back hitting the beat shopping around the state... I'll be in West Tennessee tomorrow doing another interview. Good luck coaches!
