Another great rivalry is Volunteer vs. Cherokee. Every year the entire population of Hawkins county comes to see on of the most exciting and heated rivalries in the area.

I cant belive you guys havent mentioned the mccallie and baylor matchup. have you ever been to one of those games. it is crazy. they play at finley stadium and have like 20,000 people there. you guys need to get out.

everyone knows maryville-alcoa is the biggest, most-hyped rivalry in the state, i can see riverdale having some rivals, but how many state titles have they won in a row?

Westview vs. Union City...although I think westview - milan will be a great game this year also

South Pittsburg vs. Boyd Buchanan, not one of the longest but and decent rivalry at that

Having grown up in Chattanooga, there's no doubt that Baylor / McCallie is the biggest rivalry. But the greatest hatred toward each other may have to be Franklin / Brentwood. Its pure disgust!

I remember back in the mid to upper 90's when Red Bank and Soddy Daisy could turn out the fans. So much so that they ended up moving the game to Finley Stadium because neither home stadium could hold the approximately 15,000 that wanted to see the game.

The RB- Soddy game at to be intresting this year, as its played at soddy. If i'm correct....i believe it will be soddy's first game on their feild after having it repaired. I'm not 100% sure about that but i believe so. I'd love to see it go back to Finley though.

 

Baylor McCallie is a great rivalry for the private schools, but as for public i think that either Soddy vs. RB or South Pittsburgh vs. Marion county.

I think that Oneida/Greenback is a pretty big rivalry, even though it is not a very old one.

I agree Cowspot, last year these two teams had a good game in the 2nd round of the playoffs, with Greenback coming off the win. Should be a good game this year, I see Greenback winning though.
