It is WAY to early to declare the best back in TN. All these backs seem very good, but wait until the playoffs and see how these backs do over the entire season to determine the best running back in the state.

And one little thing, Cassen Jackson from Knox Central had 55 yards against McCallie, so maybe competition level helped him in the first 3 games stack up all those yards.

There are a bunch of great backs in TN, but don't overlook Earnest Williams of Crockett COunty. He doesn't have great stats so far due to lack of playing time caused from the competition played. He's 6'1, 180 lbs, runs a 4.5 or better, and rather run through defenders as around them. That's why Ole Miss, Auburn, and the Vols are all taking a look.

Chris Johnson of McCallie looks pretty good to me.

Rebelron, Walker is a good back. Come to think of it, there a 3 good sophomore backs in Blount County. Walker, Lindsey at Alcoa, and Ryan Tallent at Maryville.

Once Chris McCord gets back to 100%, I'm sure we'll see do some special things again this season. MHS has a good back in each class. McCord sr., Byner and Parnell jrs., Tallent soph., and Tank Baker fr. Go Rebs.

LCstatman, I have to agree with you. I haven't seen all your games, but I have noticed the competition you've been playing. For Gregory to gain that kind of yardage against that kind of competition speaks volumes for him....and the offensive line he is running behind. Will Franklin County slow him down?

If the O line plays like they did against Blackman and Riverdale, I don't think Franklin County will be able to contain him. He is a big, strong runner, and is deceptively fast. He broke against Riverdale last Friday and outran their secondary for an 85 yard touchdown. Everyone knows the type of speed Riverdale has on defense, probably one of the fastest in the state. He should have 100 easy, wouldn't be supsrised to see him break the 200 mark.

has ever happened beLCstatman, didn't Lincoln County have TWO backs gain over 100 yards against Riverdale's defense? Wonder when that fore. Riverdale doesn't give ground easily.

Edminston was the other that gained 100 yards in the riverdale game. i am not for sure how many but he had over 100. LCstatman probaly knows exactly how may. But i have to go with the Falcons Josh Gergorey as the best back You have just got to see him play hes unbeleivable.

Yes, in fact the Falcons did have two backs to go over 100 yards. QB Michael Edmiston gained 110 yards on 21 carries for Lincoln County to go along with Gregory's 169 yards on 28 carries.
