Both teams look excellent this year, and I think it will be a sort of Battle Royale after the teams split last season. Right now it's hard to say who has the edge, with G'Pasture impressing upon 1A that they don't want to be messed with (easy wins over CPA and Ezell) and Lipscomb sustaining their feverous pitch after last year's dominant ramble through the playoffs. I wish I could be at this game; it features two classy, talented, WELL-coached teams and a respectful rivalry between fans. I'll post my prediction next week.

After watching Lipscomb last night I would say they are ranked number 1 for a reason. Also listening to Murphy on the radio he said with that score and talking to coach Mac he felt Lipscomb would win and it might not be a nail biter like recent games. Lipsomb in my opinion is the team to beat in all of 2A along with Tyner. I see the remaining teams in the top 5 or so pretty equal. I would say Milan, Huntingdon, and Goodpasture are all right there together.

Burton Elrod is a really, really good name for a football player. I don't like boring names, I like exciting, unique names. It is obvious to me and all real thinkers that his parents were thinking of high school football when he was born and named, or maybe he had a relative with that name? But it doesn't really matter because I feel like the winner of this game will be the Private School sponsored by the Church of Christ... There yeeeee go!

Wow! Finally the matchup i've been waiting for all season. The Coagers versus the Mustangs. The biggest rivalry in 2A. Lipscomb looked outstanding against Marshall County on Friday night. Lipscomb's line dominated the opponent's. There defense looked solid after the beginning of the 1st quarter. The were well prepared. Goodpasture also has some very talented players so this should be a great contest. I think it will be a high scoring game. If anybody has any predictions please post.

i am a graduated fb player of this region and i hope lipscomb runs away with this one big. i have no respect for goodpasture at all and lipscomb is a well coached and displined team. i have more respect for DL than prolly out of anyone that we played. so i'm pickin lipscomb.

    • 20 but had 5-6 not dressed every game. It went down towards the end due to injuries and obviously only 15 got to dress for the state tournament. Then, they only lost 2 from this year and gain 8 from the middle school for next year
    • As somebody mentioned before, this is going to result in a massive lawsuit, can you imagine professional "educators" actually having the conversation about getting "the bad kids" out of the high school?  And the head coach asking directly to change grades, gets turned down, comes back again and gets it approved?  This is unbelievable.  In addition to the lawsuit, the state Department of Education is going to come down extremely hard on this.  WYSH is on the war path.  There could be dozens more lose their jobs by the time this is over.  And yeah the real shame is the kids being affected that literally had nothing to do with this and actually worked hard to earn their grades.
    • I've heard Powell from someone who talked to him. I saw the kid two days ago and I should of pulled over and talked with him and wished him well where ever he goes. It will be a ale of a loss for us because I don't believe we have anyone in the stable good as him from what I seen in the spring.
    • I would have to think that the firing of the 2 teachers is just the beginning of future moves.  If not, it is woefully short.  If the AC school board thinks that the damage is just limited to Clinton, they are sadly mistaken.  Any outsider would view the whole school system as suspect, and rightly so.
    • Yeah. AC brass walked in to the building at Clinton and suggested that the principal start changing grades.  Honesty, the notion that anybody at AC was involved is just idiocy.  The ones who are hurt most are the kids who weren't involved in the cheating, but still are being penalized by college admission decisions and scholarship consideration simply because they went to a school that was involved in such a scandal.
