What official game clock would that be? $100 says there was no clock on the field. Look the tape over and see if the referee had a clock or watch he was referring to (standard wrist watches don't countdown either). The official clock won't be there because this is not standard mechanics in Tennessee High School football. They don't keep a clock on the field unless the scoreboard goes out and the ECO (Electric Clock Operator ) comes down and keeps it on the field. Do you believe everything you hear on the news? Find a local official in your area and ask them if they ever keep a clock on the field that is separate from the scoreboard.

One more thing.... if the scoreboard isn't official, why do TSSAA officials keep the clock at every varsity game and the home school pays for it? Hmmmm.

it's all moot now...can't complain about the clock...BA won; let's just move on...I have a funny feeling that some guys will be motivted by all this...

I don't want to hear a single MBA person reduced to the level of complaining about officiating...TOMMY OWEN WOULDN'T HAVE IT!!! BA won. Shake their hand and get ready for Saturday morning running.....

Congrats to BA on a big win. They played with a lot of heart tonight. The game was evenly matched the whole way with a bad snap by MBA on a punt with less than 1 minute to play ultimately costing them the game.

 

These two may well see each other again in a few weeks for all the marbles. Until then, good luck to both teams.

i think that ba's winning tonight will just spark a fire on west end. if and when these two teams meet again in the clinic bowl, there is no way that ba will even be able to compete because mba will be so mentally prepared and fired up.

wow...i have to say, i didnt think that BA could do it, obviously they are a heck of a team, but i have a question, since CBHS won tonight and BA did also, what do the standings in div. 2 aaa look like now.....congrats to both teams........i have to say i think it will be CBHS and MBA in the title game....

Because of the foolish TSSAA rules, the BA-MBA game tonight did not count toward the D2 standings. MBA gets 1st, CBHS 2nd, BA 3rd, McCallie 4th, MUS 5th.

From the TSSAA region standings:

 

Each team has four official regional games.

These games do not count in regional standings: Baylor/Father Ryan;

Brentwood Academy/MUS; Brentwood Academy/MBA;

CBHS/Father Ryan; McCallie/MBA

 

I have yet to hear an explanation of this silly rule.
